Uneducated “Fans”

Post by Basil Shabazz »

it shocked me how many posters on here were in our blasting the Tigers for defeating a very tough Auburn team on the road in a very tough environment to play football.

This is the SEC! all of these teams are stacked with elite talent, and all of these teams show up week in and week out.

I've read that Drink sucks, Moore sucks, Pribula sucks, the O-Line sucks, the DBs suck, etc. Crazy how dumb do many of you are. we are watching quite possibly the greatest run of football in Missouri Tiger history. Yet some of you all are either ignorant or spoiled, and can’t appreciate it.

Drink may be the best Recruiter and portal operator in the country right now. This team has won loss, by three points, to what might be the hottest team in the country right now.

sad that some of you guys can’t enjoy it, because you can’t appreciate what good football really is. This game is not easy, this conference certainly isn’t easy.

Rant over! apologies to the real fans on here, has this was not meant for you. This was meant for the ignorant ones.

No one should be downplaying a win at Auburn, a team with two SEC losses in which they have legitimate gripes about officiating decisions that really went against them. That being said, we are a few frustrating things away from being a legitimate playoff team.

I also don't understand those writing in the Vandy game as a loss. We might indeed lose because nothing is a given in this conference. Vandy gets smacked by Bama then they beat a Brian Kelly coached LSU team. So who knows.

If you think Saturday's game against Auburn was an example of good football, then you have a extremely broad definition of "good football."

That was a -- girl you'd never kiss -- ugly win. But it would have been an even uglier loss.

You're right on Drink. He's the best coach we've had in my memory and that goes back a ways. Still, if he can't get the Tigers over the "Bama hump", it's not good enough.

People who complain about Moore don't understand that teams have to take what the defense gives them. You can't run time and time again if the defense loads the box with 8 guys.

Pribula is what he is-- a good runner but a poor passer. This is why he never got a starting job at Penn State. And while I won't say Pribula (Four INTs in the last two games) sucks, that performance does suck.

I'm always shocked at the low expectations some people have.

This is why I greatly admire what Vandy is doing. They're in this to win the NT. They probably won't, but they've got their goal right. They're not hiding behind slogans like "We're better than we were." or "Playing good football." They want to win and they won't be happy with anything less.

The Tigers too used to be a bad team most of the time. Now, they're a good team most of the time. But that's not enough.

We want an NT, and I for one, will not sit back and enjoy ugly wins until the Tigers bring home the big trophy.

Good teams find ways to win ugly games.

Pribula found a way to win in a very tough environment against a very tough defense.

Bama best Vandy by 16 and MIZ by 3. The pole slurping over Vandy in comparison to Missouri is just weird or truthfully, “uneducated”.

Two things can be true.

1) Mizzou got the win, which is the most important thing at the end of the day.

2)They made it way harder on themselves than it had to be because of poor coaching decisions, poor discipline, and poor execution that will (and already has) cost them games.

The end of the final drive of regulation and the 1st OT in particular were both master classes in what not to do when you just need a fg for a win.

I’m happy Mizzou won and everything is still in front of them. But if you watched last night’s game and can’t understand why people would be upset by a few things then you are simply the antithesis of the people you’re calling out here. Being overly negative and over the top about every missed opportunity is dumb. Burying your head in the sand and ignoring every wart to cheer lead is dumb. Or uneducated, if you prefer.

Fortunately Auburn made more bad decisions and shot themselves in the foot enough for us to win. That's just what happens in college football. You take the wins that you get and move on.

Problem is it's not an "easy game" for most any SEC team. It's actually a difficult conference to win games....but that goes for every team.

I'm thrilled Missouri won that game last night. I know it could have well gone another way and I am soooo grateful for the win (exccellent final drive followed by a stout D) but as I look at what I think this team really can be I EXPECTED THEM TO WIN IT. And while doing all that "expecting" I wanted to see improvement in play calling, qb play, DB performances, special team improvements......all the things that they need to IMPROVE to make the play offs and finally truly be some body.....and it is frustrating because imo Missouri did all they could to keep a team like Auburn not only in the game but a 50/50 chance winner of the game.

I agree with you we have some posters here who do and say things of content or for reasons I do not agree with but most people here just want Missouri to play smart from the booth and minimize the mistakes and take their school as far as they can go and are not going to be shy with how they want them to go about doing that.

I try to limit my criticisms to the bigger things. I get all the mistakes cannot be addressed or cured or eliminated and for me here of late I look at the play calling as a major factor in a lot of the struggles of this team and in particular our qb.

I'm going to say Missouri will have to play their best game of the year to Beat Vandy at their home.

They are an impressive football team.

Lol

You are substantiating your Vandy fetish over 4-5 spots in polls at midseason?

Okay

I will take the win, as far as I’m concerned last night the football gods simply repaid us for our last game in Jordan-Hare. But acknowledging the other team handed us the game just reinforces my point. Mizzou and their coaches are better than they showed last night.

No way anyone should believe that.

when you are currently watching one of the best runs in Missouri football history, and are actively promoting that they will lose convincingly to a Vanderbilt team, who is probably having one of their best seasons ever convinces me that you are truly a fan of Missouri football. The truth is that these will be too evenly matched teams playing in the toughest conference in collegiate football. Just as with any SEC game, either team can win on any given Saturday. Missouri has great players, great coaches, and mostly great fans.

Please don't put words in my mouth.

I never said I thought Vandy would win convincingly. I do think they'll probably win, but they're at home, and hot as fire, and their QB is just way better than what we have.

What impresses me about what Vandy is doing is how far they've come in the last two years.

Loads of people consider the Tigers to be a second rate program. You'd have to be wildly optimistic (and kind) to call Vandy even that.

But They've come a long way fast. And I'm impressed.
