Tollison
was A-Whipped all over the field last night. Did not make any bad hikes so give him credit for that but was a no show as far as a blocker. Play after play he was standing there just watching as his man made the tackle, you would think he would at least have been on the ground after trying to block............a total no show

Re: Tollison
My guess is the offense due to crowd noise had difficulty with communicating protections and changing plays pre snap.
Auburn coaches saw that and sent the house on nearly every obvious passing down and then some.
First road game nearly 90K in the stands, night game.
Just a factor not an excuse for some of the whiffed.
But when they showed replays you could see Tollison was almost pre determined where he was going to block obliv ious to the defender coming through an inside gap.

Agree. Tough sledding yesterday. Auburn is legit defensively. They schemed very well and we played into their hands most of the game. We were fortunate to grind out enough points to win. We’re going to have to find some creativity to score more points going forward. But we’re not going to see many defenses that tough and that’s as tough a road environment as you’ll find.11WSChamps wrote: ↑19 Oct 2025 08:12 am My guess is the offense due to crowd noise had difficulty with communicating protections and changing plays pre snap.

Re: Tollison
I cant give blame to any OL for yesterday’s game for two reasons. First Auburn is 5th in the country against the run…..5th.
Secondly, sure there were a couple of issues, but Mizzou has 5 OL and Auburn had 7-8 players in the box all night. They would consistently send 5 rushers in an unbalanced way to create a 3 on 2 situation, or just flat out send 6 across the line. The sold out every play to stop the run and put pressure on Pribula.

I know what you are saying. Auburn played for that I think, he would get the read and get on his guy, and just a step, or half count later they would send someone from the other side. Auburns front is legit.
Re: Tollison
Yeah, in future games, if opponents are stacking the box, I'm envisioning more screens, more misdirection, and more quick slants and quick outs that were working late in the game.rezero wrote: ↑19 Oct 2025 08:58 am I cant give blame to any OL for yesterday’s game for two reasons. Took the coaches a long time to figure out what Auburn was doing.

Re: Tollison
Game within the game.
Auburn wanted to make MU one dimensional on offense by stacking the box which makes MU go with a lot of empty sets
To hopefully confuse Auburn with pass coverage.
Thankfully Pribula was able to hang in there and hit some crucial passes late under pressure.

Re: Tollison
How do you not call a couple screens when Auburn is crashing in all night long?
Re: Tollison
Tollison has really regressed this year from last two. He is getting beat routinely by even average DT's and against this elite front? all you can say positive about him is he is NOT mis snapping the ball once a game like he usually has. they have a darn good backup and surprised he isn't getting some reps.
overall Oline is ordinary against power 4 teams and not opening up many holes. Kirby should have seen he wouldn't be able to run effectively against them and came out short passes and screens plus wheel routes which are always open and are extension of running game. THEN you start pounding the running attack when they don't pack the box. This really isn't that hard to see. it's the classic move when the other side is whipping your guys. Another D- For Kirby. at least the job offers are gone but Eli shouldn't bring him back.
Need to get hardy out on wheel route past the big dogs and let the secondary guys try and stop him and Roberts who is a really good pass receiver.
