We don't have anyone to fill it though at least not right now. If we did they'd be up here instead of Kessel.zamadoo wrote: ↑18 Oct 2025 23:31 pmThis is the position that Army has chosen to leave to the system to fill. Bottom pairing D. Signed vets and sent rookies down at forward. No extremes in age. 21-33 y/o. Avg age 27.TheJackBurton wrote: ↑18 Oct 2025 23:25 pmI wouldn't say pining but the 3rd pairing absolutely needs a vet dman who can play either side so Tucker and Mailloux can take some nights off.
They need someone who is responsible and can help bail them out when need be.
He wouldn't be the first choice, but he wouldn't be hard to get back and would't cost much of anything in the terms of assets.

I think Tucker, Kessel, and Mailloux are fine as long as the whole team plays right. Evidenced tonight with different forward lines.TheJackBurton wrote: ↑18 Oct 2025 23:34 pmWe don't have anyone to fill it though at least not right now. The forwards absolutely were a huge part of it as they came back and had fantastic gap closure tonight.zamadoo wrote: ↑18 Oct 2025 23:40 pmI think Tucker, Kessel, and Mailloux are fine as long as the whole team plays right. Yeah I don't know, we are an inevitable injury away from pretty sketchy.zamadoo wrote: ↑18 Oct 2025 23:40 pmI think Tucker, Kessel, and Mailloux are fine as long as the whole team plays right. Well, that is the pressure put on the young talented players. They're either legit or not. We still have 33, 32, 33 Fowler, Parakyko, and Faulk on D. All playing well. Broberg as well. Fowards kept it tight tonight.skilles wrote: ↑19 Oct 2025 00:02 amYeah I don't know, we are an inevitable injury away from pretty sketchy.zamadoo wrote: ↑18 Oct 2025 23:40 pmI think Tucker, Kessel, and Mailloux are fine as long as the whole team plays right. Re: Practice Lines (10/17)
Tucker and Kessel were fine tonight. Allowing Broberg to play with Faulk makes the whole team better because Broberg can use his skating ability better. When Mailloux is paired with Broberg, it hinders Broberg because he has to cover for Mailloux's mistakes. Also, Tucker is not as dynamic is Broberg, so the pairing of Faulk and Tucker is not as good as Mailloux. The team is where it is with the trade. But, right now the reality of Mailloux is that when he is on the ice, he is either with Tucker and as we saw, that is a serious liability. Or he is paired with either Faulk or Broberg, but that has the consequence of making two of the defensive pairings worse instead of 1. We saw tonight with Kessel, he is steady and using him with Tucker worked fine. I am not sure what the solution is. But, tonight, the Blues just dominated a good team in Dallas. I am less certain that would have been the outcome of the game with Mailloux on the ice.zamadoo wrote: ↑18 Oct 2025 23:40 pmI think Tucker, Kessel, and Mailloux are fine as long as the whole team plays right. Hmmm, sounds like Jack was right on this one.STL fan in MN wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025 12:16 pmI’ve seen comments like this for years and I don’t get it. In all the years MacInnis has been employed by the Blues, I’ve heard of zero times of him working with a player directly. I’m not even sure he works for the Blues fulltime. He’s an advisor to Army. Likely just someone Army gets an opinion from from time to time.TheJackBurton wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025 11:35 am A game or two from the high seats for Logan with Chopper and likely Prongs will do the young fella some good.
And Pronger? He now with the FanDual broadcast so wouldn’t he be busy with that? And not like he’s been around a ton over the years. That said, has he even been on a FanDual broadcast yet? I saw where he was on Hockey Night in Canada the other night so I guess the FanDual thing isn’t every game. But either way, not like he’s just in the pressbox ready to give advice to whatever d-man is scratched that night.
