You think he will only get 19 this season and beyond?Bubble4427 wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025 19:52 pmThere, I fixed it for you.Mr.Snuggleupagus wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025 19:06 pm They traded a perennial 19 goal scorer for a clone of Chris McAlpine.![]()

RHD has a lot more value compared to wing.
Bolduc is a young middle 6 winger, who's ceiling is a top 6 winger.
Mailoux is an established AHL all star RHD who's next step is the NHL, and who's ceiling is projected as being a top 4 dman.
Of course it would have been better to get a more established player, but a young RHD already playing in the top 4 is going to cost a lot more than Bolduc.
The logic behind the trade is sound but there is definite risk that Mailoux doesnt hit and doesnt become an NHL player.
Now give him the time and games to find out what kind of trade the Blues actually made.
At any rate as already said, its way too early to be drawing any conclusions.
I think the point w/ Pronger isn't to compare him in terms of potential, but to emphasize that even as great a shut-down, ice-time-eating d-man as that gangly kid became, it was a process.
The management group that evaluated Bolduc and Mailloux is STILL IN PLACE. They will continue to make gross errors into the future. Consider the facts fully. Army has been trying to replace Pietrangelo for 6 years. Mailloux is but the LATEST FAILURE. Pietrangelo came in as a #4 pick, before Army's time.
We need a GM that can find and develop an elite RHD. Army is failing. Period.
What are you basing that on?a smell of green grass wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025 20:47 pmThe scouting and development that HAD NO IDEATheJackBurton wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025 08:42 amSo the GM and scouting dept that were in place to draft and develop Bolduc aren't good enough to develop Mailloux?a smell of green grass wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025 08:21 amIt's simply amazing how small the expectations are around here.MikoTython wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025 07:20 amIf Mailloux simply becomes a servicable 3/4 RD, with his size & offense, the trade made sense. - how good Bolduc is in 2025
- how bad Mailloux through 2027
is incompetent. I would not trust them with any scouting.
You’re comparing a player that has played parts of 3 seasons in the NHl to one that has played 15 games and claim to already know how each player will pan out…..Mr.Snuggleupagus wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025 20:07 pmYou think he will only get 19 this season and beyond?Bubble4427 wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025 19:52 pmThere, I fixed it for you.Mr.Snuggleupagus wrote: ↑17 Oct 2025 19:06 pm They traded a perennial 19 goal scorer for a clone of Chris McAlpine.![]()
