He accomplished a feat in 1966 that will never be duplicated - he threw FIVE complete game shutouts vs the NL Champion Los Angeles Dodgers that year. Still one of the most astounding pitching records of all time.

To be fair, you are the first to jump on anyone for any small infraction. So...glass house situation

I was always in awe of The Zamboni machine talk on the radio when I was little. I was really believing that guy was the best third baseman ever and never missed a ball. As a younger adult I was fond of Benard Gilkey. I thought he was very underrated and one of the best Cardinals of that era. As for the goto player. Hands down for me, Glen Brummer. That third string catcher's stealing of home in the heat of the pennant race propelled that team to achieve greatness. Without that play, 1982 doesn't happen. They learned that day they could do.anything!

1. Bob Tewksbury
2. Bernard Gilkey
3. Pags
4. So Taguchi (he maybe #1 for me).
5. Pedro Guerrero
6. Gregg Jefferies.

I probably have more...
Those are some good ones!
Thanks!

Bob Uecker.
1964 World Series. Game 7 Postgame clubhouse hilarious
Playing role of interviewer

No surprise he was destined to be one of most entertaining play by play guys in MLB history

Remember his funny appearances on Johnny Carson late night.
Ueck : I signed with the Cardinals for $5,000.
In those days, that was a lot of money for my old man to scrape up !

Johnny rofl 🤣

Julian Javier. When we went to a game, Dad's instruction was for me to watch Javier to learn what a 2B was to do. I mostly played 2B, and Javier's classes for me made me a much better player.

David Freese. He turned into Babe Ruth for a couple of weeks but c’mon he wasn’t a star.
