Social media criticism (like Cards Talk) left STL due to growing weary of fan criticism that he saw online

former president of baseball operations John Mozeliak stated that Albert began to grow weary of fan criticism that he saw online.
This caused Albert to leave for different pastures and make his way to the northeast to be the Director of hitting for the New York Mets.
A person familiar with the Mets' minor-league hitting infrastructure spoke highly of Albert's aptitude for coaching, saying “They have a really good hitting program in the minor leagues.
[Albert] is an incredibly smart, talented guy. Jeff has the capability and he’s done it before.”

Albert has indeed found success as a hitting coach before. He was the Cardinals' hitting coach from 2019-2022, and the club saw plenty of growth in its hitters.

From 2019-2022, the St. Louis Cardinals ranked first in all of baseball in pulled fly-ball rate. Why are pulled fly balls so important? They happen to have the highest wOBA (.937) among all batted balls. That's an insane wOBA, and the Cardinals were taking full advantage of this analytical benefit while Albert was the club's hitting coach.
Since 2022, the Cardinals' offense has plummeted. The Cardinals rank 18th in wRC+ (99) since 2023. They rank 25th in ISO, 19th in wOBA, and 22nd in total home runs. The club's ability to slug has fallen dramatically, and Jeff Albert's departure could be partially responsible for this decline.

In 2022, the Cards had a pretty good offense, largely due to Goldy and Nado’s career years and Pujols amazing 2nd half. That heavily influenced the team stats and shows you what having top of the league hitters in your lineup can help achieve, though we still were missing pieces at catcher and in the OF.

From 2019-2021, the offense ranked amongst the worst in the league. But I guess it’s cool that we hit some fly balls?

The snipits give way too much credit to Albert for that one season. 2023 was awful because Marmol killed the vibe with his Umpire spat and TON callout, Pujols left a void never filled and Moz sat on his thumbs with zero improvements on the team. We didn’t fall because Albert left.

 Poor baby. Now he's in NY...this should be fun for him

But some poster told us he had a great pull% hitting team during a year or two of his tenure!. Apparently that represents something positive about his methodology

Of course it could be that Jeff Albert is a bit of a candy (donkey).

He wasn’t.

But the stupidity never ends.

So you drank Mo's kool-aid?

Pujols left because his beloved Cardinals kept low balling him among the four finalists. He was sick of seeing Latinos settle for less and greedy vultures exploiting this home town discount. The only reason Pujols doesn't have 800+ homers is because he was depressed in Anaheim.

Not everybody can take the bloodthirsty fans and ruthless sports media in St. Louis. A sensitive soul like Albert is better off in a NY--a place that famously caters to people with delicate dispositions. Where, I hear, everyone on Twitter is nice.

J. Albert letting social media drive him out of this soft town?

Wait until he starts hearing it from Mets fans and the NY media.
