Re: Mails -6
Here's what I don't get: Mailloux is young and inexperienced. Duh... So, why for F's sake, is he so often being paired with Tucker and/or Broberg, each of whom are, you guessed it, also young and fairly inexperienced.
Parayko, Fowler, or even the dreaded Faulk, should be the only partners he sees until he adapts to the speed and team.
Just makes no sense.

Because putting him out there against the top guys is also a bad idea.blackinkbiz wrote: ↑16 Oct 2025 12:59 pm Here's what I don't get: Mailloux is young and inexperienced. Duh... We put our young talent with veteran defensive third liners type, for a couple of years. We should give the guy some type of veteran leader to show him the way.
Neither Tucker, or Brobgs is that type of leader
Re: Mails -6
Pronger just on the air saying it takes 300 games for a defense man to truly learn who he is.
When asked to compare Logans year here with his first year here he said no comparison, "I had a year under my belt and Logan has 11 games."
On when he did break in..."I was bood for 3 years".
His basic advice for him was to be himself, stick with what works for himself, and venture/learn from there.
Many posters here not being reasonable, imo.

I think the pronger and Mailloux trade comparison the STL sports media is using right now isn't helping the Mailloux situation at all tbh. I don't know why on gods green earth you would make that comparison.. Janney situation Shanahan being a HOF Pronger a future HOF and highly touted prospect etc. I get they were both young defense that struggled early and got booed but Logan truly doesn't need to be compared to pronger in anyway right now let the kid breathe WTF is the PR/Media doing to this kid.dhsux wrote: ↑16 Oct 2025 14:50 pm Pronger just on the air saying it takes 300 games for a defense man to truly learn who he is.

By his 4th game in his career, Pronger had 3 assists and was a +2, with 11 shots on goal.dhsux wrote: ↑16 Oct 2025 14:50 pm Pronger just on the air saying it takes 300 games for a defense man to truly learn who he is.

By his 4th game in his first season with the Blues, Pronger had 1 goal, 2 assists, was a +3 with 11 shots on goal.
In 4 games as a Blue, Mailloux has 0 points, is a -7 and has 2 shots on goal.
I know he is not Pronger, but Pronger's name should not even be brought up when talking about Mailloux and his performance. It isn't fair to the guy. Pronger may have had ups and downs but he had ups right away. Mailloux...I have not seen anything that excites me. Not even a flash.

Prongers comments on the young player, and his own experience as a young player, are quite relevant.

i didn't say pronger did i'm saying this has been a talking point for a week already on STL talk radio and in the papers. I listened to the entire interview.dhsux wrote: ↑16 Oct 2025 14:58 pmIn no way am I or is/did Pronger make that comparison.Unfathomable wrote: ↑16 Oct 2025 14:53 pmI think the pronger and Mailloux trade comparison the STL sports media is using right now isn't helping the Mailloux situation at all tbh. You don't want to pressure the kid so you you make the comparable to the the Pronger trade and keep talking about how pronger made it through this and how the fandom booed him and you don't think thats inciting some feelings? our fandom over reacts to EVERYTHING.

Sorry dh it's not you particularly. You just happened to be the guy that brought it up right now. Many people have been continuing using Pronger as a reason we have to give the guy some time.dhsux wrote: ↑16 Oct 2025 14:59 pmGood Lord people.MiamiLaw wrote: ↑16 Oct 2025 14:58 pmBy his 4th game in his career, Pronger had 3 assists and was a +2, with 11 shots on goal.dhsux wrote: ↑16 Oct 2025 14:50 pm Pronger just on the air saying it takes 300 games for a defense man to truly learn who he is.

But I think almost everyone understands that anyways. People are continuing to miss the point that the reason people are so focused on LM's performance is because of what the Blues paid to get him. Might not be fair to him but it is 100% understandable.
No one expected him to come in and be an all star but he's frankly been abysmally bad. He's not ready. It's not his fault the Blues put him in this situation. The criticisms, at least on my end, are more directed at Army and the staff than him.

Hopefully, he is mature enough to listen to Pronger and not let this nonsense fester. He may never end up being good but the environment here is hostile. The point that I took away from Pronger's interview is that the St. Louis fans were impatient and wrong in his scenario.Unfathomable wrote: ↑16 Oct 2025 15:05 pmarmy and the media sure aren't doing the kid any favors right now.MiamiLaw wrote: ↑16 Oct 2025 15:04 pmSorry dh it's not you particularly. Hopefully that is the case again, but I am way more concerned at how unbelievably poor our zone entries were last night and how many times the Blackhawks broke up the play at their blueline while already going full speed back the other way. The neutral zone enigma has very little to do with what LM has done so far, Tucker has done him no favors either.

problem is the blues call their fans the Smartest in Hockey every other broadcast so they believe that lol. Blues PR and STL sports media always struggle with situations like these. They try to build the new guy up and end up ticking everybody off telling them you don't know what your talking about be patient after telling them they are the smartest.
If there is one part of the organization that needs improved its PR in times like these.

Re: Mails -6
Your whole post was good but above is why I made the comment on what Pronger said on the radio.
I'm NOT comparing the players in any way shape or form but rather it's Pronger comparing what fans did with him and are now doing with Logan.
He's telling who ever wants to listen it TAKES TIME...he referenced 300 games....to fully develop as a defense man and 11 games is not a barometer for anything.
