Oh man, so many.
Taguchi and Kline have to be up there. I thought Orlando Palmeiro had a good season here for that one year (though he had a -.5 WAR?! The hell is that about?)
Kiko Calero...Mark Grudzielanek seemed fairly hard to replace...

Or as he said to fans on a Spring Training video - "taste some of that Baderaide".TheFantasyStud wrote: ↑16 Oct 2025 12:39 pm Darth Bader

Minnie Minoso. Was 400 years old when we got him from the White Sox and then he ran into the wall trying to make a catch right after the regular season started. So much for Minnie.

Strummer - A ran into Mark in San Diego and asked him why he didn't re-sign with the Cardinals. He told me thatStrummer Jones wrote: ↑16 Oct 2025 13:59 pm Oh man, so many.

the Cardinals put a certain value on each position and they told him that second base was one of the lowest values. He said that they then "low balled" him and he moved on.

Forsch might be a little too good for this list. A lot of his numbers aren’t too far off from Wainwright’s.

I really liked Calero as well. Makes the Haren for Mulder trade even harder to stomach due to his (and top prospect Daric Barton's) inclusion. I like Grudz and Tony Womack, as well as Fernando Vina before them.Strummer Jones wrote: ↑16 Oct 2025 13:59 pm Oh man, so many.

Pretty much any role player on the Cardinals from 2002-2006 is gonna be high on my list. Somebody else mentioned Woody Williams, and while not a star he wasn't quite a #5 SP or role player either. I also really liked Suppan, who was much closer to a #5 SP.
But So Taguchi will forever be my favorite "non star Cardinal" and it's not particularly close.

Bob Tewksbury is the inspiration behind my screen name and was my favorite as a kid. He was an All Star in 1992 so I don't know if he counts. I also liked Greg Jefferies. Don't know if anyone else around here has a Bob Tewksbury and a Greg Jefferies jersey with all star patches.
He didn't do much here, but the Cardinals may not have won the 2004 pennant without Roger Cedeño who was 1.7 career WAR player but for some reason he OWNED Roger Clemens.

Did anybody but me see Pete Kozma wipe a bugar on Daniel Descalso? Those would be my 2.
Re: Your Favorite NON STAR Cardinal?
You can call me crazy or call him crazy but Brenden Ryan. He was just so confident in his defense he could play shortstop with any old glove.

Your favorite, yet you can't spell his name.
