opt out destinations
Alex Bregman and Cody Bellinger are opting out of their contracts with the Sawx and Yanks. Anybody have predictions on who they will sign with?
Re: opt out destinations
I could see them both ending up where they are currently. Also Bergman is not going to help the dump NA effort.

Bregman - Phillies/Mets/Dubbies/O's/Dodgers
Bellinger - Yanks/Pads/O's/Dodgers

Re: opt out destinations
Bellinger wants to return to the Yankees and they likely will sign him unless they get Tucker. Bregman is between the Mets and Red Sox but never rule out the Dodgers.
Re: opt out destinations
Also Bergman will never see the 2 year, $80M contract he just declined. Even with $40M of it deferred.
He must not like playing on Boston. Should've just taken the money and attempt to make a run with the Red Sox.
Of course, maybe I'm the one whose nuts.

Re: opt out destinations
It is unlikely he is going to get more $ per year than his 2 year deal w/ Boston. Maybe he just wants more guaranteed years since he is nearly 32 years old. I could see the Phillies, Mets, and Dodgers giving him what he seeks.
Re: opt out destinations
All good possibilities, but I don't see the cubs in on Bregman. I think they are still committed to Shaw at third. I would expect the cubs could seek a reunion with Bellinger if they cannot sign Tucker, which I don't think they will.

I gotta believe they're looking to install one of their hot shot outfield prospects in Tucker's spot. And I don't see them giving up on Shae this early, either.

Yes they may rely on Caissie and/or Alcantara to take Tucker's place.Strummer Jones wrote: ↑16 Oct 2025 20:00 pmI gotta believe they're looking to install one of their hot shot outfield prospects in Tucker's spot. And I don't see them giving up on Shae this early, either.
