The play in the defensive zone is terrible.
I think Matt Kessel MUST play next game for 23.
He is a more methodical and experienced defenseman.
Who else has stayed behind that we can sub in?
Kyrou and Schenn and Faulk were +, - zero but it did not seem like any of them played that many minutes

The Blues have struggled with speedy teams over the past couple years. The Blackhawks have made the transition to a young/lightning quick game and it's looked promising.
Re: GDT: Hawks at Blues 8:30 TNT
?..Joseph and Fowler also plus minus zero
Re: GDT: Hawks at Blues 8:30 TNT
Really can't take too much from the individual +/- in this game. The Blues had pretty much quit checking halfway through the second period.
Broberg had a rough night but it wasn't all on his play. Mailloux and Tucker are making far too many mistakes, Not sure what was going on with Joseph, he got beat up. Suter and Snuggerud disappeared.
The Blues as a team struggled with Chicago's speed and quickness. Mostly they needed goaltending, but despite the mistakes there is no excuse for that 2nd period on home ice.

If someone already posted this i apologize but EVERY player on the ice was minus tonight. Montgomery should have them practice tomorrow with no pucks. This team deserves anything he puts them through tomorrow.

6 players weren’t
Re: GDT: Hawks at Blues 8:30 TNT
Sure you can, its an accumulative stat and you get a + when the other goalie has a bad night and the luck factor evens out.

Yep. 5 dmen is definitely the way to go.rezero wrote: ↑15 Oct 2025 22:55 pmStart Binny. Bench Mailloux.TheJackBurton wrote: ↑15 Oct 2025 22:53 pm So far 12 goals in 2 games on home ice.
They have to figure this out.
Simple as that.

Certainly not a hockey expert and I stopped watching at 5-2 but that point the difference was three soft/stupid goals given up by the two goal tenders. Neither looked like they were ready to play. No excuse but who wants to play when your goalie can’t stop a beach ball going into the net.

allowing softies is every bit as deflating as when they make miraculous saves energizes the team.Jatalk wrote: ↑16 Oct 2025 09:12 am Certainly not a hockey expert and I stopped watching at 5-2 but that point the difference was three soft/stupid goals given up by the two goal tenders. Especially when you just tied the game and got back the momentum, then 54 seconds later he allows a second softie.

Point is the "luck" factor evens out.TheJackBurton wrote: ↑16 Oct 2025 08:59 amThey get the minus, but not the blame

Sure, and when they get the + because of a goal that goes off the glass and the goaler goes behind the net to attempt to stop it they don't really celebrate either.skilles wrote: ↑16 Oct 2025 09:57 amPoint is the "luck" factor evens out.TheJackBurton wrote: ↑16 Oct 2025 08:59 amThey get the minus, but not the blame

Nobody is a bigger fan of Tucker than I but I don’t believe he’s an every night dman. Mailloux as has been stated has not been good and honestly it’s been pretty ugly. Kessel is not the answer nor is anybody in Springfield.
I think we need an upgrade on the blue line. Byram is available, he wants out and would fit in perfect here. Watched some of the Sabres last night, he looks good, and he was playing his offside. That’s a guy that I would love to see Army pursue and we know the Blues have had serious interest in dealing for him.

Good to see a realistic take from a guy that liked the trade (and I assume you still do). LM is not ready. That is clear. Sucks that we traded Bolduc and are still looking for help at the position, but that is reality right now. In a few years, maybe LM will fill a need. He is nowhere near that guy right now.Pierre McGuire wrote: ↑16 Oct 2025 10:18 am Nobody is a bigger fan of Tucker than I but I don’t believe he’s an every night dman.
