That's how many Chris Pronger had under his belt before he came to the Blues and still got booed mercilessly. Things turned out ok.

Nobody ever mentions that he was traded because he was arrested for a drunken brawl at a bar and then a DWI....

I wouldn't think that would be the specific reason, but probably contributed to it.

If you were the Whalers at the time you had a chance to trade for one of the best players in the game for a #2 overall pick just 2 years ago.

You are a failing franchise that needs butts in the seats and you were just offered Brendan Shanahan for Chris Pronger. Even with how it eventually turned out, I don't see how you could turn it down at the time whether the brawl and DWI happens or not.

Shanahan (sp?) was sleeping with Craig Janey's wife. I think they eventually married

Actually, my purpose for starting this was so people might be a little patient with Mailoux.

I don't think there is anyone that does not understand this or was expecting him to be an all star immediately. People are mad at the cost to acquire him.

Fortunately, they didn't pay a premium to get LM. Traded a good forward for a good RHD.

Honestly, I never knew the story about the bar brawl and DWI.
