I was in StL for game 5 of the WS. After the game I walked by a vendor who had 1985 World Champion Cardinals shirts. I thought, hell, I'm going back home to Dallas where I won't be able to find one when they win, so I bought it. I still have it, and it reminds me of what could have been.

I was listening to the game from my office in DFW. My roommate called and said he and some of our friends had blown out of work early to watch the game at our apartment. I was 30 minutes away so I headed out. I was at the stoplight to my apartmen's parking lot listening to the game on the radio when Ozzie hit his home run. 5 minutes later I got home and everyone was still jumping around. The funny thing is that the same thing happened with Game 6 and Clark's HR. Roommate gathered the guys and called me. I drove home. And I was sitting at that same damned red light when Clark hit his home run.
