I was 12 and didn't think it was a home run. Glad I was told to go crazy because then I understood it was a homer.

It was forty years ago today; that’s when Ozzie showed the world the way.

I was 30 and enjoyed every minute of the playoffs and WS. I also attended the parade downtown after the WS on a chilly October day with my two-year-old daughter on my shoulders.

I was actually still cooking at this point. Approaching the runway to life in just about a month.

They had a parade after they lost the World Series?

My mistake. I was thinking of the 1982 WS. I guess I had a senior moment.

I was driving on my way home from work.

Couldn't wait to get home to see the highlights of the game.

Good times.

I was in StL for game 5 of the WS. After the game I walked by a vendor who had 1985 World Champion Cardinals shirts. I thought, hell, I'm going back home to Dallas where I won't be able to find one when they win, so I bought it. I still have it, and it reminds me of what could have been.

I was listening to the game from my office in DFW. My roommate called and said he and some of our friends had blown out of work early to watch the game at our apartment. I was 30 minutes away so I headed out. I was at the stoplight to my apartmen's parking lot listening to the game on the radio when Ozzie hit his home run. 5 minutes later I got home and everyone was still jumping around. (bleep), missed it.

The funny thing is that the same thing happened with Game 6 and Clark's HR. Roommate gathered the guys and called me. I drove home. And I was sitting at that same damned red light when Clark hit his home run.

I was in the left field bleachers and it was a go crazy moment. Was in the bleachers for about a half hour afterwards. The ushers were trying to get the bleachers cleared but no one wanted to leave.

If you were 30 ,old Red, in 1985 that would make you 70 years old today.
I am 77 and I could swear you were telling us you were older than 70 right now. Thought you were older than me too. Thought you had reached 80+ Boy, I must be losing it.
