finally was able to watch game
what a great CFB game between heavyweights! MU nation should be dang proud of Tigers and the crowd atmosphere is simply so much better than it was when Drink got here.
Did bama get the calls? of course they did, this is the SEC.
D played there butts off and really limited the most talented WR room in country. a baby wr emerged to lead them.
Overall tho Kirby and Beau had very rough games. Kirby's play calling was erratic and not efficient. They did not do what they do as they always say. Bama first time in many years does NOT have a dominant d line and two of their rotation pieces didn't play and a third got hurt. needed to keep pounding the ball to wear them totally out but Kirby blew it. Beau was having rough day passing and yet he put too much on his plate.
Good news is after this his star won't be burning near as brightly as it has been. still has a lot of growth to do especially since he had two weeks to prepare. Lots of times when Beau dropped back he didn't have a quick outlet to throw too and did NOT run wheel routes to Roberts and he forgot all about Coleman his best receiver who he rarely targeted. On a couple of 3rd and shorts didn't have hardy even in the game to be that play action threat. few passes downfield and on the speedy j overthrow he was uncovered and Beau should have delivered it much sooner and he was running that way and should have seen him.
On fake punt they set it up awfully. Roberts was alone when tigers normally have 3 there, stupid it was quick tell to D that it was coming. Then he lined up on short side where Bama had more defenders than wide side which only had two and had wr's who could have come over and blocked. I liked the idea of it but dang these things are NOT that hard to set up. plus should have had one of normal guys there to lead him out and not be so danged obvious. I saw it immediately and I'm sure many of you did who have actually coached or even just watched football.
Looks like they burned the freshman wr's RS which is fine. he is a stud and that was an amazing tough contested ketch to get them to goal line. They need better production from wideout position.
overall proud of tigers and they will be tough to play even on the road. of course drink needs to kick Kirby in the butt during tape review and get him more aggressive and smarter. P

That's probably why Mizzou only dropped two spots and stayed ahead of Vandy in the AP poll.what a great CFB game between heavyweights! MU nation should be dang proud of Tigers and the crowd atmosphere is simply so much better than it was when Drink got here.

Re: finally was able to watch game
At home, in front of a massive crowd of screaming Tiger fans, with two weeks to prepare, and the Tigers didn't get it done?
That might have been okay 6 years ago, but we're way past the point where you can spin this as some kind of victory.
People keep saying we still control our destiny. But that means beating Auburn, Vandy, OU, and Arky on the road and a tough home game against A&M. The Tigers a have to win out.
Good luck with that.
You learn more from losing than winning. I guess that's a sliver lining if you're desperate to have one.

I believe if they beat Auburn, Vandy, MS St. and Arkansas, and split with A&M and OU (and don't get embarrassed if they lose one), they should be in.Red Bird Classic wrote: ↑13 Oct 2025 11:04 am At home, in front of a massive crowd of screaming Tiger fans, with two weeks to prepare, and the Tigers didn't get it done?

No they didn't, but I'm not sure why you're talking about Auburn in this forum. At home, in front of a massive crowd of screaming Tiger fans, with two weeks to prepare, and the Tigers didn't get it done?
The bottom line is don't fumble on the goal line and put your fate in the referees hands.
Re: finally was able to watch game
If Missouri is 12-2, pending who the second loss it to, they may well get in.Red Bird Classic wrote: ↑13 Oct 2025 11:04 am At home, in front of a massive crowd of screaming Tiger fans, with two weeks to prepare, and the Tigers didn't get it done?

It may not be comfortable being Missouri and not a ND, but they SHOULD GET IN if they manage to do that.

"No. 16 Missouri is very much alive as far as securing a spot in the CFP. Conventional wisdom, historic precedent and predictive analytics all support that notion."If Missouri is 12-2, pending who the second loss it to, they may well get in.
"They can still take another loss and have a playoff caliber resume: 10-2 will very, very likely be enough for SEC teams to make it in, given the strength of the conference." --PD

How do they get to 12-2 when they only play 12 games?dhsux wrote: ↑13 Oct 2025 15:35 pmIf Missouri is 12-2, pending who the second loss it to, they may well get in.Red Bird Classic wrote: ↑13 Oct 2025 11:04 am At home, in front of a massive crowd of screaming Tiger fans, with two weeks to prepare, and the Tigers didn't get it done?

We're talking 10-2 unless they make the SEC championship game and win, and then you'd have a 11-2 record.
But honestly, what do you think the odds are on the Tigers winning all those road games including OU and beating a powerful A&M team at home? And maybe the SEC championship against probably Bama or Ol Miss?
I don't see Our team making the playoffs with a 10-2 record and I doubt they'll make or win the SEC championship.
But we can hope. Just like I hoped we'd finally beat Bama this year.

You tell me what the odds are whenever Missouri can break through and win a NC? What were the odds when the Blues won the Cup in '19 .....then the odds in December with one of the worst records in the league? I'd say they are below that.
I do see 10-2 making the play offs. They need to avoid the SEC Championship game if they can, which is probable.
Take this one step at a time. Get to 10-2 and see what happens. No one is talking NC right now there's a lot of wood to chop before that.
Re: finally was able to watch game
Pribula and Moore cost the Tigers the game yesterday. The D came to play. If Pribula plays like that and Moore coaches like that the rest of the year, they may not win another game.dhsux wrote: ↑13 Oct 2025 18:29 pmyeah brain fart typo...sorry.Red Bird Classic wrote: ↑13 Oct 2025 18:12 pmHow do they get to 12-2 when they only play 12 games?dhsux wrote: ↑13 Oct 2025 15:35 pmIf Missouri is 12-2, pending who the second loss it to, they may well get in.Red Bird Classic wrote: ↑13 Oct 2025 11:04 am At home, in front of a massive crowd of screaming Tiger fans, with two weeks to prepare, and the Tigers didn't get it done?

Higher than the realistic goal of getting the five wins needed to make the playoffs. But honestly, what do you think the odds are on the Tigers winning all those road games including OU and beating a powerful A&M team at home?
