Justin Carbonneau is off and running, looking to put his team in a position to do some special things before making the next step in his playing career.
The St. Louis Blues first-round pick in the 2025 NHL Draft (No. 19 overall) has sprung into action for Blainville-Boisbriand Armada of the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League, one of the favorites to win a league title this season and strong candidate to compete for a Memorial Cup. Carbonneau, a right wing, has seven points, including five goals, in the team's first four games this season, including two goals and an assist in a 10-4 win over Terre-Neuve Régiment on Thursday:

Thank you TBone for posting something that's not related to the Bolduc/Mailloux trade
. Sheesh.
I'm looking forward Korac's updates after the Springfield prospects have a few games under their belt. Meanwhile I"m fully expecting Carbo (and Korotky, to a lesser extent) to simply keep putting up good numbers, but I'm excited to see if anyone can start to emerge from the pack amongst that Springfield group.

Right! Can you imagine trying to get through an Oiler board last year with the season that Broberg and Holloway had? Bolduc for Mailloux is nothing compared to Broberg and Holloway for a few non 1st round draft picks.sneptsmoustache wrote: ↑13 Oct 2025 08:28 am Thank you TBone for posting something that's not related to the Bolduc/Mailloux trade. Haha I had a buddy who would text us screenshots of that very dialog from Oilers reddit threads. It was an absolute meltdown.b-a-a-a-rclay wrote: ↑13 Oct 2025 08:31 amRight! Lindstein and Stenberg both apparently looked good in Springfield according to some

I watched only part of it but Lindstein was better and more assertive than I was expecting. He was good. Had an assist and finished +2. +2 in his first N.A. pro game (outside of preseason and prospect showcase anyway) in a game they lose is pretty darn good.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑13 Oct 2025 09:03 am Lindstein and Stenberg both apparently looked good in Springfield according to some
Stenberg was fine. He was good but I’ve seen him be better. Overall, neither team really had a ton of standouts. Charlotte is a good veteran team that seemed to clog up the game well.

Lol unless Paul Fischer remotely plays well at some point down the road, then look outb-a-a-a-rclay wrote: ↑13 Oct 2025 08:31 amRight! Jiricek 5GP 5 1 2 3 2 +5 on another note. I havent taken any time to watch Brantford it kinda doesnt matter to me Jiricek is either going to the A or the Blues next year but his numbers are worth watching. 3 pts in 5 is ok but he needs to be a top point producer thereSTL fan in MN wrote: ↑13 Oct 2025 09:16 amI watched only part of it but Lindstein was better and more assertive than I was expecting. I thought Zherenko was fine but Charlotte definitely seemed to control play. I saw more the 2nd half of the game though so maybe Zherenko was bad the first half, idk.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑13 Oct 2025 09:25 am3-0 early but i wasnt paying that much attention was Zherenko bad, it was a bad match up for a bunch of kids.STL fan in MN wrote: ↑13 Oct 2025 09:16 amI watched only part of it but Lindstein was better and more assertive than I was expecting. I’m starting to come to the conclusion that Jiricek just might not be much of a point producer. I didn’t watch his latest game but of what I’ve seen, he’s making big impacts for Brantford all over the ice. He’s their #1 all situations d-man. He’s been looking a lot better overall this season compared to last.

I will be surprised if Jiricek doesn't produce points. He showed too much promise this camp/preseason. Regardless, if he is a good top 4 RHD, it's a lot better than the fears regarding Jiricek before this summer.STL fan in MN wrote: ↑13 Oct 2025 09:35 amI thought Zherenko was fine but Charlotte definitely seemed to control play. The overall landscape of the transactions plays into the reaction.b-a-a-a-rclay wrote: ↑13 Oct 2025 08:31 amRight! If I'm an Oiler fan, and I see my team competing for a Stanley Cup with key players that I drafted, I can acknowledge that my team has the ability to recoup the losses via the draft. I would be happy to know that at least my team can find great talent. I would be happy to know that my team doesn't have to use offer sheets to steal players.
If I'm a Blues fan, and I see bench players Broberg and Holloway come in and surpass everything on my roster, I'm worried. Then I see a beloved prospect traded away for another MAYBE, I"m a lot more worried.
Blues fans have a lot more to worry about than Oiler fans.

Actually Oiler nation had a huge meltdown all through the season last year regarding DH and Bro, and it will continue this season if DH and Bro continue on their upward arc. Even an Oil cup victory won't completely remove the bad taste out of their mouths from the offer sheets.

Haha really… somewhere up there with “never go full [decelerate]” / “moronical”.a smell of green grass wrote: ↑13 Oct 2025 14:53 pmThe overall landscape of the transactions plays into the reaction.b-a-a-a-rclay wrote: ↑13 Oct 2025 08:31 amRight! Take a gander on HFboards and look for the #102 page Broberg and Holloway gripe thread. Then come back.
Ability to recoup talent via the draft… so what’s that 3rd rounder going to bring… it’s only at minimum 11 times 5 away from a top 5 pick…
