We’ve all been thrilled with the awesome stats we’ve compiled this year. We have a lot of talent. Elite talent. Fun to watch talent.

Yesterday should serve as a reminder that winning is hard. We have new players still trying to figure things out. This was to be a rebuilding year. It might still be.

I hope we don’t lose again, but we could. The schedule is tough. Hopefully this year turns out special but we could be a year away from being a playoff team. The awesome thing is, our program is certainly going in the right direction.

I guess that is one of the frustrating things about yesterday. Mizzou has a running back tandem that everyone else would trade for and we didn't play to it.

Especially when we're playing teams in the same boat with similar talent.

We have been playing close games with really good teams and winning at a high percentage.

Yesterday we played a close game with an elite team.

Agree.

And in addition we "played" to a quarterback whose passing game was pretty much not on target. Pretty evident he was off yet they kept going back to the well rather than play to their strength.

As I inferred in another post, imo the OC's game was worse than Pribula's.

Don't understand why people act surprised by Pribula'a play.

He's a good runner and a weak thrower. Penn State knew it. Drink surely knew it.

Pribula can roll up big yards in comfortable situations against Arky State or Kansas, but against an outstanding team with top-notch players... this is who he is. That's why he sat on the bench for 2 years at Penn State.

This difference, right now, between Alabama and Mizzou is they have a top-notch QB who can run and throw, and we don't.

Simpson has 207 total yards. Pribula had 208.

And the difference was three points.

Agree. The difference between a game managing QB and one who is elite only normally shows up in big games. Most QBS with superior OL and WR talent can beat up weak teams. When you are competing for championships, you need an elite QB.

As far as the OP saying it is a rebuilding year makes no sense. Every year in college football now when you turn over 40% of your roster every year could be deemed a rebuilding year. Gone are the days of building a team year over year with the same players. Good coaches need to win every year with the cards they are dealt that year. There is no excuses anymore for a down year, which is shown by Penn State firing Franklin after two playoff years.

Why don't you post the TD-INT numbers next?

I will. Right after you post the rushing numbers and team yards per play.

I have been a Mizzou fan for 50 years - I was at the game and we were all discussing Mizzou in big games ... if we have been in 50 big games since my fandom I'm guessing our record in said games is maybe 3-47

how's that for perspective ?
