Auburn got royally hosed agains by the refs right before halftime. However, Arnold shouldn't fumble on 3rd and goal from the half yard line, but it sure looked as if the ball crossed the goal line before the ball was knocked loose with Auburn up 10-0. So UGA then drives the length of the field for a FG right before halftime. So Auburn! Arnold fumbled the ball away to Missouri late last year when he was with Okie. Result: winning TD.

And SC is hanging in there against LSU in BR, down by 3 at half.

Meanwhle, UCLA annihilated Michigan State in East Lansing. Maybe they really have talent that was just not unleashed by the fired coaching staff.

It would have been nice for us to have taken advantage of the opportunity today. It was definitely a winnable game.
Agreed.

As we move to the second half of the season Ohio St. is the clear leader.
Sure, but it really sucks how EASY their schedule is compared to the average SEC team.

Here is who Ohio State has left this year:
Wisconsin
Penn State
Purdue
UCLA
Rutgers
Michigan

The chances they even get tested in any of those games outside the rivalry game against Michigan are very low.
I expect Penn State, UCLA and Michigan to all threaten to beat OSU.
Neat. With Michigan losing today, Ohio State will not play a team that will be ranked tomorrow afternoon for the rest of the season. Must be nice to play in the Big 10.

Don't get me wrong, Ohio State is a great team, but it's really nice when you only have to get up for a couple games each year and basically have free wins the remainder of the season unless you completely forget to show up. They could make the CFP as an undefeated with their signature win being over currently unranked Texas and ZERO other ranked teams.

It's really a flaw in the CFP system that it rewards weak schedules. SEC teams are inherently punished for playing a brutal conference schedule year after year.

I know there are 16 teams but look who we don't play:
Georgia
Ole Miss
LSU
Texas
Tennessee
Florida
Kentucky

There are a bunch of top 20 teams in this group and no cupcakes. It would be nice to take advantage this year because it probably won't get much easier in the coming years.

Florida Kentucky and Texas aren't even ranked.

Georgia LSU and Ole Miss struggled against.500 teams.

I agree with what you're saying my point is that the schedule this year is very home friendly. The toughest road game is Oklahoma and they just lost to Texas. They get Alabama and Texas a&m at home. There are few if any easy games in the sec and I don't see any future schedules being more favorable than this year.

This year Mizzou will play five ranked SEC teams, which is the same as next year based on current rankings.

Next year will have five as well with three at home, which is the same as this year.

The rankings may be similar but I think this years schedule provides the better opportunity. Of course in college football so many things can change with the transfer portal.

Which is why you don't concern yourself with who you do play or don't play now or in the future.
