The Pujols HR in Houston and Freese HR in Game 6 of the NLCS are the most dramatic home runs of my life.
I would list the Ozzie "Go crazy folks" walk-off HR in the '85 NLCS s pretty special as well.

Notes.
One was a lefty. One a righty.
Hit off a lefty. Hit off a righty.
Both won a game.
One off HOFer. By an average hitter.
One off leagues best. by a HoFer.
One on the road. One home? Was Adam’s at home?
NASA still tracks Pujols ball.

Here’s one never debated here. The bigger or better home run. Some could say Lidge was never the “sane@.” What about Kershaw?
This isn’t a franchise level question- simply between these two at bats.
Thoughts.
10/11/64: Ken Boyer's grand slam in the top of the 6th inning gives the Cardinals a 4-3 lead over the Yankees in Game 4 of the World Series
Or
The 2011 World Series featured several memorable home runs, particularly in Game 6, where David Freese hit a crucial walk-off home run in the 11th inning, helping the St. Louis Cardinals win the game and ultimately the championship against the Texas Rangers.
Two homers that made St Louis champions.

I hear ya. I’m open to franchise level. I was more entwined with the odd correlation between the aforementioned mentioned.CCard wrote: ↑10 Oct 2025 07:36 amNeither.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑09 Oct 2025 10:23 am Good morning.

Nothing disagreeable.

Freese ranks one, Smith two.
But since the question was Adams /Pujols:
Adams.
Then Albert.

So top five then is Ozzie Boyer Freese Pujols and Adam’s, not in any order.Melville wrote: ↑10 Oct 2025 07:53 amLargely agree.imetsatchelpaige wrote: ↑09 Oct 2025 18:48 pm The Pujols HR in Houston and Freese HR in Game 6 of the NLCS are the most dramatic home runs of my life.

I would say so taguchis go ahead home run in the top of the ninth of game 2 of the 2006 NLCS should be high on the list also

Also, it’s weird how rarely we talk about Molina’s hr in game 7.
Re: The Greater home run- Pujols/Lidge or Adams/Kershaw.
Between those two I would have to say Pujols/Lidge. Mostly because of Pujols iconic status in St Louis.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑09 Oct 2025 10:23 am Good morning.

Adams' because it was against future HOFer Kershaw, was improbable as lefty on lefty, won a playoff game and helped win a playoff series.
Pujols' shot, while memorable, just delayed a playoff series loss.
The most memorable Cardinals' postseason HR to me, though, was Kenny Boyer's GS to win Game 4 of the WS in NY and vault the Cardinals to a title. Without that HR, the Cardinals go down 3-1 in the Series.
And the 2nd most was David Freese's shot to win Game 6 of the 2011 WS.
And the 3rd most memorable postseason HR was Jack Clark's in 1985 against the Dodgers after LaSorda decided to pitch to him with a base open and "'Blankety Blank Van Slyke" on deck, as Vin Scully famously read LaSorda's lips. I'll never forget Pedro Guerrero slamming his glove down in disgust in LF after the ball sailed over his head.

IIRC,
A New York Yankee hit a ball from Yankee Stadium all the way to Nevada.
Stanley Nevada

Jack Clark's homer was similar to Pujols', not in trajectory, but you knew once it hit the bat!VegasVinny wrote: ↑09 Oct 2025 11:12 am For me, it's the Pujols HR. If I remember the sequence of that 9th inning correctly, there were two outs and the bases were empty for Eckstein, who singled. Edmonds worked a walk. And then The Shot Deep into the Heart of Texas.
If I could relive one home run in Cardinals history for the first time again, it's that one. Edmonds' walk-off against Miceli a close second. (Sorry, was too young for Ozzie's '85 HR so don't have that personal attachment like the others.)

I jumped off the sofa with that Clark shot. I'm surprised I didn't punch a hole in the ceiling.mytake wrote: ↑10 Oct 2025 13:24 pmJack Clark's homer was similar to Pujols', not in trajectory, but you knew once it hit the bat!VegasVinny wrote: ↑09 Oct 2025 11:12 am For me, it's the Pujols HR. Ken Boyer Game 4 grand slam in 1964 World Series. I rank this one first because I was 10 years old and it was the first time the Cards were in the World Series in 18 years.
Ozzie Smith Game 5 1985 NLCS. I rank this second since it’s a walkoff and was totally unexpected since Oz had lever hit a left handed HR in his career.
David Freese Game 6 2011 World Series. Hometown hero. Needs no further explanation. His triple in the 9th was really more important.
Jack Clark Game 6 1985 NLCS. I hate the Dodgers more than any other sports team, so this one was particularly sweet, especially watching the shock at Dodger Stadium, the steam coming out of Tommy Lasorda’s ears, and Pedro Guerrero slamming his glove down.
Yadi Molina, Game 7 2006 NLCS. Maybe I should rank this one higher, since it got us to the WS and we hadn’t won one since 1982. I skinned my knuckle on the ceiling at my brother’s house jumping up!
Matt Adams, Game 4 2014 NLDS. I like this one because it was unexpected and because Joe Buck’s dramatic call added some zest to this one.
Albert Pujols, Game 5 2005 NLCS. What a blast! And Thom Brennaman’s call on Fox was superb. “Stunned in silence this Houston crowd…”
Jim Edmonds, Game 6 2004 NLCS. Another iconic walkoff HR that saved the series and allowed us to win the next night.
Regarding Adams vs Pujols’s HR’s, I hate to waffle, but they’re equal to me. I’ll give the slight nod to Adams only because it was more of a surprise.
But Kenny Boyer’s tops them all in my book. Old memories never die.

Good point I completely forgot about that one and went back and watched it again yea it was huge especially since at that time Molina was pretty much still useless with the bat batting .216 that season it wasn’t as surprising as lawless home run but it was pretty unexpectedecleme22 wrote: ↑10 Oct 2025 09:42 amAgreed.Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑10 Oct 2025 09:38 am I would say so taguchis go ahead home run in the top of the ninth of game 2 of the 2006 NLCS should be high on the list also
