Buffalo Sabres Roster
They currently have 14 forwards 8 defenseman and 4 goalies.
What happens is they decide to put Ellis on Waivers again do blues automatically get him back
they currently have 26 players and need to trim down 3 players to make nhl starting roster

They already put Georgiev on waivers.
Re: Buffalo Sabres Roster

Re: Buffalo Sabres Roster
They have 2 goalies - Levi was sent to the minors days ago, UPL is on IR and Georgiev was waived. Their goalies are Lyon and Ellis. They are roster compliant and have been so since they had to be on Monday.
If/when UPL is ready to return and comes off IR then Ellis might find himself back on waivers. If that happens then yes, the Blues would be able to claim him and send him directly to Springfield if they’re the only team to put in a claim on him that day.

Re: Buffalo Sabres Roster
Maybe it's a stretch, but knowing they signed Georgiev less than a month ago to only waive him, tells me they have no direction or plan. They seem to just make decisions without any real strategy.
It's a shame for their fans.

Blues have first claim, then it goes in order. I believe once it gets to the Blues in the order, no other team can claim him. Not 100% on that last part.Nublues69 wrote: ↑08 Oct 2025 10:53 amwould the blues have the first claim? or is it still in the orderSTL fan in MN wrote: ↑08 Oct 2025 10:43 am They have 2 goalies - Levi was sent to the minors days ago, UPL is on IR and Georgiev was waived. Re: Buffalo Sabres Roster
Teams after the Blues could put in a claim but their chances of actually getting the player would be very low as I’d be surprised if the Blues didn’t put in a claim. But there’s nothing stopping them from doing so.TruBlueFan_1970 wrote: ↑08 Oct 2025 11:07 amBlues have first claim, then it goes in order. I'll bet multiple teams put in waiver claims on Ellis. It would be nice to get him back. If Binner or Hofer get hurt, he's the next up.
