Kirby interview for Hoggs
With Missouri offensive coordinator Kirby Moore's contract set to expire after the 2025 season, the Tigers are already seeing the potential of his departure.
Moore interviewed for the head-coaching position at Arkansas on Sunday in a video call, per a report from On3's Riley McFerran. Regardless of how far he gets in the hiring process, it signals that he could get further opportunities to be a head coach in the coming months.

Granted I don't follow all the regs and rules of college ball but that kind of meeting should not be allowed to take place in-season, imo.Rantz wrote: ↑08 Oct 2025 07:01 am With Missouri offensive coordinator Kirby Moore's contract set to expire after the 2025 season, the Tigers are already seeing the potential of his departure.

simply huge distraction from most important FB game of year for Tigers. but was a zoom interview not too bad.
IF he comes up with game plans that are successful against Alabama, Aggies and rest of SEC he WILL be gone at end of season for his HCing opportunity and he will have his choice. It's how FB works or really any sport.

It's a terrible look for you to assume that Moore has been or will be the only candidate interviewed during the season from a team on the Hogs schedule.

He never assumed that. Stop throwing shade on and belittling other posters out of sexual frustration.winonsports wrote: ↑08 Oct 2025 10:22 amIt's a terrible look for you to assume that Moore has been or will be the only candidate interviewed during the season from a team on the Hogs schedule.

When you leap before you look and freely admit it, then you can only assume you will land on your feet and will have to accept whatever comes your way due to the decision you made.lucucaracha wrote: ↑08 Oct 2025 11:59 amHe never assumed that. And that's exactly what he did.

That's what you want, to have so much success that others think they can draft off of it. If people aren't poaching your coaches you aren't doing very well. Drink would have his choice of many up and comers to choose from to replace him.hdhntr148 wrote: ↑08 Oct 2025 08:37 am simply huge distraction from most important FB game of year for Tigers. but was a zoom interview not too bad.

Pinkel's staff consistency was kind of a unicorn and even he had many move on and up.

It will be Petrino unless they turn into a complete dumpster fire down the stretch. Good for Moore though.
Re: Kirby interview for Hoggs
I expect you're right. His return to permanent head-Hawg was probably destined the moment Arkansas let him back on campus. But I've heard some talk about Rhett Lashlee. He's an alum and has done a nice job at SMU and is also 20 years younger than Petrino. It will be Petrino
Re: Kirby interview for Hoggs
Nothing says commitment like interviewing for a job in the middle of the season

Maybe we could then get Petrino to run our offense.

The SMU contingent must feel like "what do we have to do to keep Jerra and the Dallas Arkansans away from our HC?" after making the CFP just a year ago.Nothing says commitment like interviewing for a job in the middle of the season.

I saw that as well, Lashlee gave the typical “I’m focused on this program (SMU)” line IIRC. Which of course means nothing for his future.jcgmoi wrote: ↑08 Oct 2025 17:30 pmI expect you're right. If Petrino struggles or gives any whiff of old behaviors maybe they back up the Brinks truck for Lashlee. Unfortunately I think he does enough to keep the job, though I have no idea what their schedule looks like to say for sure. I am not a fan of slimeball BP but he has always been an offensive guru and I suspect getting that side right would be enough for the head Hogs in the AD’s office to give him his 2nd chance. They’d probably even get a nice, incentive laden deal with a decent buyout.
Long story short, Moore is a long shot.

Re: Kirby interview for Hoggs
No different than anyone with a current job interviewing for a better one, which I and many others here have done I’m sure. Besides trying to screw with Mizzou was probably at least a 1% chance they had Moore on their list.
We did just flip one of their best recruits and sign another top uncommitted player out of their state after all.
