Misiorowski
How do the Cardinals and Royals miss on a guy who went to high school and college in Missouri?
Go the win vs the Cubs and hit 104 on the radar. 23 years old.

Any evidence of that or is it merely your opinion?
Re: Misiorowski
Misiorowski was drafted in 2022 in the second round, the 26th pitcher taken if I counted right.
That was the year StL fell in love with west coast college arms, Hjerpe and Mautz.

Re: Misiorowski
True and they might work out in the long run but Misiorowski is in MLB today and just won a playoff game.
Re: Misiorowski
Don't give me this 'didn't draft him' business when what you wrote was 'didn't notice him'. Back that up if you can.
Really, why don't you come up with these pearls before the draft instead of three years down the road? You could make some money.

The organization had Gallen and Alcantara in their minor league system and didn't notice their talent.
Obtuse statement.
Re: Misiorowski
His second pitch last night hit 104. There was a few 103s mixed in.ScotchMIrish wrote: ↑07 Oct 2025 10:28 amEvidence that he throws 104 or evidence that we didn't draft him?
Re: Misiorowski
So the club was dumbfounded when Miami wanted them, couldn't wait to clear the trash off the roster. OK.
Your refusal to back up your opinion that Mis was unnoticed by offering your further opinion that Gallen and Alcantara were unnoticed too seems obtuse to me. I'm out.

Re: Misiorowski
Yes, the Mizz throws 103/104 mph. At this point , Adam Wainwright would characterize him as a 'thrower' and not a 'pitcher' .
He can 'throw ' very high velo but his command is quite wild. He started out like a house of fire and then struggled as his walks led to him struggling in games. Manager Pat Murphy was forced to remove him from the starting rotation and put the Mizz in the pen.
He has a bright future IF he can get control of his velocity and develop secondary pitches he can throw for strikes. Throwing high velo is one thing.. commanding high velo makes you a pitcher .

Re: Misiorowski
I was going to say something similar. Look, don't get me wrong, I wish we had this kid in our system. So does everyone in baseball. But, he still needs a LOT of polish. Think Jordan Hicks when we brought him up from A Ball, but then add 20 degrees of wild. I've watched him pitch a lot in the second half and I watched every pitch last night. He's not jus a little wild. I think he'll be a stud though and the kid has some fire, tooramfandan wrote: ↑07 Oct 2025 12:14 pm Yes, the Mizz throws 103/104 mph. Re: Misiorowski
Alcantara won a Cy Young. Gallen was Arizona's ace the year they went to the world series. The Cardinals are severely lacking in talent recognition even within their own organization.jcgmoi wrote: ↑07 Oct 2025 12:05 pm So the club was dumbfounded when Miami wanted them, couldn't wait to clear the trash off the roster. Perhaps Bloom will do better.

Re: Misiorowski
Actually, the Cardinals did recognize Alcantara's talent, but he had yet to control that talent. Mo was still in a panic mode to find a power hitter for the lineup, and Ozuna looked like he was coming into his own. It was Gallen that I think the Cardinals misjudged.ScotchMIrish wrote: ↑07 Oct 2025 11:50 am

Re: Misiorowski
Mo saw Ozuna had a GG and he decided to give up a homegrown CY Young for a questionable integrity, one armed, 20-25 HR bat…..sounds about rightDwaininAztec wrote: ↑07 Oct 2025 14:52 pmActually, the Cardinals did recognize Alcantara's talent, but he had yet to control that talent.
