How to watch Blues coverage in Cali?

Post by EKFMGA »

I saw fanduel way to get The Blues unfortunately I can only get Kings/Ducks game here. I do have ESPN+ and NHL66 doesn't seem to work any more, I don't mind paying just need my fix. Any help appreciated.

I live in SoCal and in the LA TV market and have had the NHL network at home (~ $80 per year) and espn+ for home and when I travel for work. Not sure I ever missed a Blues game I had time to watch.

This doesn’t work for preseason games as those are just available in the STL area.

We have ESPN+ as an add on to Hulu and it shows out of market games. You can pick from both teams broadcast.

This is what I’m doing also. I’ve only missed 1 preseason game but I’m pretty sure that game was only streaming on the blues app.

I get to watch about 85% of the Blackhawk games with ESPN+ (living in St. Louis)

ESPN+ should get you every game other than when they’re playing the Kings or Ducks (because you’re in their viewing area) except for the ones on National TV. For that you’d obviously need TNT or ABC but those are rare.

For me, the only games I have to worry about are the ones against the Wild as I don’t bother to pay for FanDual Sports North. And it’s really just the games against the Wild that are in STL. If the game is here, I’ll just attend it in person. Which means I need to find an alternative for the season opener this season..

I have the same thing here in the northwoods of WI. I cannot get any Blues games when they play the Wild.

Love that area up there! And the north shore part of MN. My wife keeps suggesting we move to Duluth but I keep reminding her we tend to only go up there in summer. I’ll have to take her up there for a Bulldogs game this winter so she can see how freaking cold it is then and then maybe she’ll change her mind lol.

San Diego here- my preferred interface starting this year is now HULU.

Why over ESPN+?

ESPN + recently changed the responsiveness on fast forward / rewind that makes it nearly impossible to land where you want in between breaks. 1X is comically too slow and 2x is way too fast, and thus no control of where you want to que the feed to get through breaks and whistles.

HULU (hosts the same ESPN + content since both owned by Disney) has a totally different UI for forwarding through content that is much better IMO.

My second gripe is - literally in San Diego both Anaheim AND Kings games are blacked out. So in that case its either a NHL66 + VPN (Set to somewhere in Europe) for the best quality and ability to watch on demand or OnHockey.TV which is lower resolution but requires no VPN but must be started during the game you cant watch a game after it has ended.

Yes. I say ESPN+ as they’re the actual provider but agree Hulu has the better interface so I always actually use the Hulu app as well.

Besides those options you mentioned, try crackstreams. That worked well for me for preseason games.

I'm currently on my way to MN this morning. Corporate office is there. So I'm desperately hoping my Hilton is carrying the local MN feed. Otherwise I'll have to VPN it on my laptop.

Just call or message them and ask if they have FanDualSports-North in the rooms. I bet they do but perhaps not.

If not, there will be 100 bars within walking distance that will carry the game. This is Minnesota after all! Hockey is king here.

Been to the Minneapolis area many times, staying in different areas in different hotels, you should have no problem seeing the Wild broadcast on your hotel TV.

If you are in San Bernardino County, you are screwed for all Vegas Knights games. You can either find a sports bar across the line into LA or Orange County or... pay 80 bucks for Knighttime for those three games. You will be blacked out as San Bernardino with all its giant mountains and Joshua Tree and Palm Springs, touches Clark County Nevada, which is over 200 miles away from my home.
