Walman 7/49? Army Gets Fowler For 3/18.3
Contracts like Walman’s are why owners want a salary cap. It’s the only way to protect themselves from stupidity. That Fowler deal is looking SO good right now. Four years from now, it’ll look 10 times better.

Armstrong also got Faulk + Krug for 90

Both players' contracts end when they are 37 yo.BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑06 Oct 2025 14:17 pmFowler is nearing the end of the road...Walman is not.

Walman has never played more than 65 games. If that continues the Oilers are effectively paying him $8.75 for a full season.

And if Fowler was 28-29, he’d command moreb-a-a-a-rclay wrote: ↑06 Oct 2025 14:22 pmBoth players' contracts end when they are 37 yo.BalotelliMassive wrote: ↑06 Oct 2025 14:17 pmFowler is nearing the end of the road...Walman is not.

Faulk Krug contracts were before the cap explosion and during a time of uncertainty
Big difference

Fowler is a much better player than Walman. But for the OIl and McDavid to get what they got done, they needed to spend some money. I'm assuming McDavid is signing off on the contract as well. He's probably a co-GM for the next 2 seasons. Then in that final if it doesn't work he will probably demand a trade.

421GP 45 155 200pts +34 Justin Faulk in STL...I'll take that for $6.5 million right now and Faulks contract is up next season if hes still here. No issues for me at all

That 6.5 was during Covid times man. Has nothing to do with contracts todayHarry S Deals wrote: ↑06 Oct 2025 15:25 pm 421GP 45 155 200pts +34 Justin Faulk in STL...I'll take that for $6.5 million right now and Faulks contract is up next season if hes still here. No issues for me at all

Still probably not a great plan to give a player a contract on the way out of his prime that he was nowhere near close to worth in his primeBalotelliMassive wrote: ↑06 Oct 2025 14:17 pmFowler is nearing the end of the road...Walman is not.

Very solid indeed for that money, regardless of when. Everyone knows it.Harry S Deals wrote: ↑06 Oct 2025 15:25 pm 421GP 45 155 200pts +34 Justin Faulk in STL...I'll take that for $6.5 million right now and Faulks contract is up next season if hes still here. No issues for me at all

What's more, RHD are hard to come by. If Parayko or Faulk is hurt, Mailloux and Kessel (?) become the team's No. 2 and No. 3.

Krug had also averaged 79 games a year the five previous seasons before the last two that he only averaged 62.50. He also had 102 points in those 125 games.
