#stlblues have assigned Dalibor Dvorsky, Aleksanteri Kaskimaki, Otto Stenberg, Theo Lindstein and Leo Loof to Springfield.
Still in camp:
Ellis
Skinner
Kessel
Lucic
Texier

So one of Skinner or Kessel and Texier or Lucic?

I think they will keep Kessel, Joseph, and Tex and send down LM (on paper). This will maximize the Krug LTIR. After the initial roster is set, everything is fair game.

Little surprised. He looked fairly decent in the four or five total periods I've seen.

I thought Skinner showed a lot more than Kessel

I don’t get it

I think they would both clear waivers, with Skinner the better bet. It says he signed a two way contract in the off season, so he must not have interested anyone else. I assume Kessel is a one way deal. That might have been the tie breaker.

I've mentioned this a few times now, but they were always going to keep the highest salaries up to start the year in order to maximize Krug's LTIR impact.

That means guys like Texier (2.1M), Joseph (2.9M), Bjugstad (1.7M), Torophchenko (1.7M) and Kessel (0.8M) were always going to start the season ahead of guys like Dvorsky (0.8M), Stenberg (0.9M) and Skinner (0.7M).

I'd fully expect some more roster shuffling after the LTIRs are filed.

This really only matters if the Blues intend to go over the Cap by dipping into the LTIR Pool Krug’s contract could create. As of now, I don’t see them doing that. I think they’d rather just bank cap space but then they always have the Krug contract they could put on LTIR whenever they wanted.

Armstrong explicitly mentioned increasing cap to maximize Krugs LTIR so it’s absolutely a large part of their consideration.
