Expecting 20 HRs is a lot when half the games are at Busch. Guys will have to be good around him for him to get pitches to hit.

Also, there is not a single guy in the whole Cardinals system that hit over 20 HR's this year- JJ included. It seems unlikely that he would do that next year.

Too low, especially if he's the OD 2nd baseman as expected (and he better be).
I'll go:
.287/.355/.485/.840
15 HR
65 RBI (dependent on where he hits, I'd have him in the #2 hole but he could hit lead-off)
27 SB's
89 Runs
Top 3 in ROY voting and could win it.

I think lead-off is good spot for JJ. Regarding his RBI total, I feel who the Cardinals have hitting 8th and 9th will be important. If those spots hit a feeble .205 to .215 then JJ’s RBI numbers are limited. If Bloom gets better hitting in those spots, JJ RBI will be quite good.rockondlouie wrote: ↑06 Oct 2025 08:53 amToo low, especially if he's the OD 2nd baseman as expected (and he better be).

I prefer him in the #2 hole RFD.ramfandan wrote: ↑06 Oct 2025 09:04 amI think lead-off is good spot for JJ. He's got some pop + speed and is a great fit (IMO) hitting 2nd where he can do some damage.
If he's the hitter most scouts think he will be in MLB and as he matures as a major league hitter and gets stronger, he could slide down and be a great #3 hitter!

He will have one ops point for every OP shady starts about him. Thus a runaway rookie of the year.

It's like 7 months until Opening Day and you have a POV on where a rookie should be in the batting order?rockondlouie wrote: ↑06 Oct 2025 09:09 amI prefer him in the #2 hole RFD.ramfandan wrote: ↑06 Oct 2025 09:04 amI think lead-off is good spot for JJ. My view of "Realistic" for Wetherholt's production as a rookie seemed quite low compared to some other views of "Realistic". I'd gladly be wrong on some of these lofty predictions.
