Better than pulling a Walt and using your face.

I think Lucic makes the team. His dynamic when he was on the ice change how teams attacked the Blues. No one wants to mess with him. He will get better as he plays. I would imagine Sunny's injury solved some of the mystery of him staying or going. If he doesn't make a difference, the Blues have a great pool of players in Springfield.

That's the thing. Hockey is always going to be hockey or hockey fans will go away. It's like an additional insurance policy that you may seldom use, but it's there. If it helps limit our boys from having to keep their head on a swivel a little bit more it's worth it in my book. Lucic is an NHL player who still has enough to offer in other aspects of the game. It would be an insult to believe we got him simply to handle the tough guy stuff. He'll score some goals and assists. How much? We'll see. He'll be another part of the make up of this Blues team.

I don't see whats wrong with keeping him, and start him in those games where there's likely to be trouble. Teams behave with him on the bench. Thats worth more than some of these other guys in the press box. Keep his glare and give him sheltered minutes - he's a good player.

My guess is they simply extend the PTO. Absolutely no reason to force the decision now as they don’t have to. Just keep Texier and give Looch another week or two of practice and then decide.

That said, the guy got injured twice in camp. I think he’s washed. I liked the idea of having a player like Looch but I’m just not seeing it on that ice. Like, at all.

Right. Someone said that he just re-aggravated the previous groin injury. But still. Like you said, no reason to do anything right now.

All this faith in what this 38 year old slow guy is going to do for the team.

I get the tough guy protection......but I don't get the 99% of the rest of his time. ( I know that's slanted)

I'd love to be wrong and have a feeling the chance to prove me wrong is very real.

If he makes the team, I'll be rooting for him all the way.

This is not the same Milan Lucic from years ago. He was extremely gassed just skating up and down the ice in the preseason games. People thinking he would be an enforcer type don't realize he would be too winded to ever get into a scrum. It would actually be kind of nice if he could say he scored a goal in his last NHL game (last night).

Yeah, he looks like a lumbering ogre if I’m being honest. That said, I could still see them eventually coming to the conclusion he might help the team more than Texier.

I said the day he was given tge PTO that I didnt like it, and I like it even less after seein him in slo-mo action. 10 years ago…yes, sign him all day long…it just comes off as gimmicky to me now with all things considered. I love me some tough dudeage, but they’ve at least gotta be able to play and keep up with the action a little. Seein as how it was Texier’s spot he’d most likely be takin, I could live with him on the team if he had any fight left in em, but still would rather they find a Reaves type from back in the day who fit the core age group. And I know…I know…everyone would love to have a Reaves type, im talkin more about bein able to keep up with the play and can take a shift without wmbarrassing themself.
