Makes it almost certain that Joseph is 3W and Bjugstad is 4C to start the season ... in my mind. Probably was that way before Sunny's injury.

any idea what happened?

and yeah, that's gonna push Bjugstad down to 4c with Tex/Joseph on 3rw

Love me some Sunny and his emergence in 2019 is a big reason the Blues won it all. That said, if this injury is even remotely serious, it might just be time for him to hang ‘em up.

If Bjugstad outplayed Sundqvist in camp then there's five guys who need to be displaced. Those two, Texier, Joseph and this joke they're doing for a minute with Quasimodo. The Blues have up and coming players to do this. We're pretty close to seeing it

Same. You could move him and his grill up and down that lineup and not lose a beat. One of my all time faves.

Yeah, I didn’t see any spot for Sunny in the top 12. If Joseph had earned the 3rd line slot, Bjugstad was the 4C and Sunny isn’t better than Torop or Walker, IMO, and much slower than both.

Kind of agree. Joseph was better than any of the prospects in this camp. Not saying they won't pass him up soon. But as of today, Joseph has more value with that Neighbours/Schenn pairing vs NHLers than the youngsters. Stenberg is the closest to replacing him on a line with those 2 in my opinion.

If Sunny is out they will probably need to recall a center like Dvorsky or Alexandrov. They can't go on the road without a fifth center in case of the top 4 centers get hurt during warmup. They could have Tex or Joseph suit up as a center in an emergency, but that is far from ideal.

It appears he was not putting pressure on the right knee. I'm not sure if that his surgically repaired knee. I suspect it's a sprained knee/ankle at best. Or it's torn ligaments or cartilage. At his age, I can't imagine him wanting to go through a rehab for torn ligaments. I hope it's not the worst. He's been a warrior for the Blues over the years. God Bless Sunny!

Thank you for your service Sunny, I’ll always appreciate your efforts and contributions but maybe Mother Nature is doing what the team hasn’t been willing to and that’s putting him out to pasture. He’s a mere shell of his former self

Walker has played C some, and could fill in for your scenario above

I see this as their chance to sign Lucic without having to waive Texier

Or how about this?
Sunny says “coach, I’m about done. I’ll have surgery (assuming it’s needed),you can LTIR me, and I’ll retire after the season”, and then this would free up $$ for the Blues to make a few moves to bring in someone substantial with the extra dough…
Agree with others here. I’ve liked his heart and soul play, but time catches up…
