With those two shots - Snuggerud and Carbonneau - wonder whose got dibs on the superior slapper.

Need to hurry up and dump Texier, Carbonneau should get #9 (I don't like 68).

Re: Carbonneau Already Tearing It Up
At the prospect camp, I saw 2 things about Carbonneau that impressed me.
1) The prospects were ripping pucks rapid-fire at the goalie, and it sounded like the 1812 overture. Pucks were clanking constantly off the boards and glass. For everyone, except C. It seemed like every shot by him hit the back of the twine. HIs shot is really something.
2) Broberg's little brother checked him a little too hard, and it was not 1 minute later, he nailed little Broberg with a solid hit. The kid has a footballer mentality.
His skating is not too graceful at the moment, but somehow he seems to find another gear when he smells the net.
Even though we have a lot of wingers, this was a very good pick by Army. C is going to be really fun to watch.

Re: Carbonneau Already Tearing It Up
This is why they should've traded Kyrou: Snuggeruud & Carbonneau are the future RWs
Buchnevich isn't needed either (Neighbours can play LW with Thomas)
Too bad the both have NTCs.

Re: Carbonneau Already Tearing It Up
I agree, they are the main future RWs but trading a proven 40 goal scorer and a proven almost PPG player and replacing them with basically unproven talent at this point is pure folly.Mr.Snuggleupagus wrote: ↑04 Oct 2025 20:53 pm This is why they should've traded Kyrou: Snuggeruud & Carbonneau are the future RWs

Re: Carbonneau Already Tearing It Up
Even before they drafted Carbonneau I said they could get super lucky, draft Carbonneau, trade Kyrou and still be strong on RW with Snuggerud and Bolduc with Carbo in the wings. But I never thought they would get that lucky.
Once they did the chances of Kyrou getting moved went way up for about a week before his NTC kicked in, though that's a lot of young talent to rely on. (Albeit their 21, 22 and 25 first rounders.)

Correct, I just fear their contracts may hamper the ability to extend a Holloway, Snuggeruud, Neighbours, Carbonneau, Broberg, Binnington, Hofer to long term contracts. Maybe Kyrou & Buchnevich will be looking for a change of scenery in 3 years.Aesa wrote: ↑04 Oct 2025 20:58 pmI agree, they are the main future RWs but trading a proven 40 goal scorer and a proven almost PPG player and replacing them with basically unproven talent at this point is pure folly.Mr.Snuggleupagus wrote: ↑04 Oct 2025 20:53 pm This is why they should've traded Kyrou: Snuggeruud & Carbonneau are the future RWs

Re: Carbonneau Already Tearing It Up
Kyrou’s deal is going to be fine. He’s young enough that he’ll be worth it for the duration. Buchnevich could get ugly given his age. Keep in mind, the cap is going up to 113.5M within a few seasons and potentially more afterwards. Not every one of our youngsters is going to require some massive contract. And guys like Schenn, Faulk, etc. will be cycling out along the way.Mr.Snuggleupagus wrote: ↑04 Oct 2025 22:07 pmCorrect, I just fear their contracts may hamper the ability to extend a Holloway, Snuggeruud, Neighbours, Carbonneau, Broberg, Binnington, Hofer to long term contracts. I was about to post almost the exact same thing but you beat me to it. I have no concerns in this area.bluetunehead wrote: ↑04 Oct 2025 22:22 pmKyrou’s deal is going to be fine. Re: Carbonneau Already Tearing It Up
I hear Holloway is looking at a minimum 8 million and Broberg could command up to 10 million. Salaries are getting crazy, all those guys could easily command 7+ million on their next deals. They just skip bridge deals anymore and go right to max deals. They might be able to make it work, it would be a lot easier without Kyrou & Buchnevich is all I'm saying (plus it keeps offensive players content with extra ice/pp time).bluetunehead wrote: ↑04 Oct 2025 22:22 pmKyrou’s deal is going to be fine.
