3 solo tackles and 7 assisted tackles and a fumble recovery and returned for a TD.

Those 10 tackles make him 7th on the team -- behind 4 DBs and 2 LBs, so he's tops on the DL. No sacks, but the team as a whole only has 6.

So he's not the bust he was made out to be after he left, nor is he the star everyone thought he'd be.

He was a 5* recruit. So far, he is a bust. A 5* edge should have at least 1 sack by now. And what about TFLs? Any?

actually if you look at rest of their DL that is leading.

pulled up MU's and he would be right there with Zion young in stats but again with no sacks. can't say he is anything but a freshman still learning his craft.

what was amazing about looking at these is how few tackles overall DL men make. most of tackles are your lbers and db's. big uglies control LOS on tigers and the very good deep LBer corps and db's getrdone.

sure it's similar on most teams.

I do not think Drink wanted him to leave or was trying to push him out. He was not playing much and it looked like he may not make an impact at MU in his second year. He decided to leave. Perhaps looking for instant gratification and get to the NFL. So far at NE, his playing time would not be any different than if he had stayed put.

Have you watched him play? I did, last week against Michigan State. He mostly dominated. There isn't a team in the country that wouldn't take him in a heartbeat.

For the 2025 season, Nebraska defensive lineman Williams Nwaneri has accumulated 15 total tackles, 2.0 tackles for loss, 1.5 sacks, one pass breakup, and two fumble recoveries, including one for a touchdown against Houston Christian. He has started two games, with his first start coming against #21 Michigan and another against Michigan State where he recorded 1.5 sacks.

Linemen develop a little bit more slowly than other positions.

he got paid to come to MU and then NE paid him yuge to come there. he is getting the reps now and figuring it out.

At MU Eli more than replaced him with Wilson and DE room is excellent. such is CFB now.

thanks all for the information.

Good info on Williams. Stats say he's not bad as a sophomore.
Kewan Lacy also got away. He looks really good at Ol Miss. I'm not saying Noel & Carroll weren't serviceable & Lacy was a freshman, but maybe he should have gotten more PT here to keep him out of the TP. Hopefully, Hardy will get more than 12 carries vs Auburn & keep showing that he more than makes up for the loss of Lacy.

So what. Neither would be making an impact at Mizzou.

Drink is doing a great job with the TP, but that is not going to stop a guy like Marv from finding ways to badger him

Mel Kiper Jr. has Zion Young and Damon Wilson inside the top 10 players for their respective positions for the 2026 draft in his rankings that were released today.

Just one guys’ opinion of course, but it seems possible Drinkwitz and Nwaneri both knew what they needed to do to maximize their 2025 situations.

Hopefully Williams goes high in the ‘27 draft and we Mizzou fans can claim him anyway as OU just did with all the QB’s who transferred out of Norman. :D
