Molina
He’s had managerial experience at WBC level as well as winter league. He was often called upon for advice by St Louis. If Oli is to stay, perhaps Yadi could take #2 position with a promotion planned in ‘27 (or earlier) if necessary. I’d buy into that plan.

Re: Molina
The situation with Molina and the Cardinals is bizarre, so it's hard to say what's going to happen. But he has not exactly seemed excited to be just an advisor.
This does bring up a question: in light of Bloom keeping Marmol, wtf was up with Molina's "guest coaching" last month? It seemed strange at the time, in retrospect, even weirder.

Probably not a good PR move. It would invite immediate controversy and put the lame duck in the shadow of the swan.hugeCardfan wrote: ↑03 Oct 2025 23:33 pm He’s had managerial experience at WBC level as well as winter league. If they lose it’s Oli’s fault. If they start winning it’s because of Molina. No win situation for Marmol. But he kind of sucks anyway so who cares?
If Yadi can help, or anyone else for that matter, bring them in. Marmol should’ve been replaced anyway.

Chances are the shadow was already there.
Re: Molina
Cardinals will waste yet another opportunity and Yadi will sign with another team as manager. Book it.

Asking Yadi to take the #2 slot behind Oli?
Yadi has more baseball acumen in his little finger than Oli has in his entire body.

Haha…yeah, original musing, as far as I know anyway. I was a journalist in the military so trained in the art of metaphors and [nonsense] Lol! JK about the [nonsense]…many thought we were always lying, spinning, or “hiding something” every time we’d do a story or press release! We’d get some interesting calls about our content…and aliens. Lots of calls about aliens. Interesting job, to say the least.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑04 Oct 2025 05:37 amPut the lame duck in the shadow of the Swan. Nice. Thanx for ur service. 30 years for me. Don’t you think just one of those alien sightings was the real deal. I mean, simple matter of attrition.CorneliusWolfe wrote: ↑04 Oct 2025 08:40 amHaha…yeah, original musing, as far as I know anyway. Thank you as well, you did a lot more than me! I just did two enlistments. As far as the alien stuff….maybe? I know a journalist in Columbia, MO who was a journalist in the reserves. He was activated 5 times in 7 years. Very tough on his family and career with the local paper.CorneliusWolfe wrote: ↑04 Oct 2025 09:07 amThank you as well, you did a lot more than me! I just did two enlistments. “He reached out to (president of baseball operations and John Mozeliak) and me, asking what we thought about him being in uniform,” Marmol told The Athletic. "‘My response was an easy one: Absolutely.”
"Anytime you get the chance to have someone like Yadi around your players, you take it,” Marmol said. “It’s a no-brainer. The experience, the leadership, the presence he brings—it impacts everyone."
