SEC football rosters breakdown by age

Post by jcgmoi »

Vanderbilt has the oldest roster in the SEC, with a staggering 26 graduate players, plus 50 more upperclassmen.

Tennessee has the youngest roster in the SEC, with nearly 50% of their team being freshman.

Not too surprising. The higher ranked schools have a much higher 4 - 6 year graduation rates.

Can you define this a little further?

Because Arkansas, Kentucky and Hail State have the most seniors and the higher ranked teams currently have the most juniors. (Alabama, Georgia, Mizzou, Vandy, AM, Tenn and Okie)

I wasn’t good enough to earn NIL dollars coming out of HS.

Will there ever be a funnier argument made in court to preserve college eligibility?

Can’t wait to see Pavia try to break Chris Weinke’s record for oldest QB to win a national title in a few years.

Not surprising that Vandy has oldest roster as they have higher academic standards than rest of SEC and they really can do something with advanced degrees as most won't be in NFL.

One of reasons why TN is inconsistant is because of so many freshmen.

A quick count shows 21 of Vandy's graduate players are transfers from the last two years. Lea is relying heavily on the portal to build a program.

It’s a great strategy, and maybe the key to Vandy finally being a player in the SEC consistently.
