Speaking of Vegas, there are already rumors circulating that if Edmonton fails to win a cup this year, that Vegas won't extend Eichel.

Eichel will go UFA very likely head to Boston, then Vegas will put all their chips in on McDavid and essentially give him everything he wants.

Haven’t heard that rumor myself but anyone with a brain knows that if McD hits free agency (something I think is unlikely, admittedly), Vegas would be a front runner. It’s just how they operate. They’d put the whole (drat) team on LTIR with mysterious spleen injuries to land McD.

There aren't many at this point, but they are starting.

If Edmonton doesn't win it this year (which is unlikely to happen as they don't have the cap space to improve their goaltending or team) he very likely heads somewhere that he believes has a chance to win for something in the 14-16 million range for a 3 year or so contract before ultimately choosing his retirement team.

Absolutely. If we hit January and he isn't extended every post game will be an absolute madhouse and it will get even worse when they get to the Olympic break. Coming out of that there will 500 rumors a day.
