Last year he looked on track to be their #1 defenseman for a long time

Good player, potential to be great. We are definitely in a new norm for salaries.

Hes been really good but I don’t think he’s going to end up as good as Luke Hughes but this seems to be the going rate now I guess.

Broberg should hopefully come in well under this but it's more UFA years they have to buy. Also hopefully Broberg starts to look as good as Lacombe already looks. I liked his play the other night on the goal, he should be able to make defenses and goalies respect his ability to get to that post. What I worry about with Broberg is he will try to make an offensive play which if it's snuffed out the team is in an awkward defending position and chances start coming back quickly once his attempts are short circuited. Certain rushes up ice, he gets going with so much speed he winds up skating quickly into the ice gap then the opponent shuts him off from his teammates, anyone else notice this?

Unless he’s 20 goals 60 points no way he gets that contract here.

Broberg and his agent must be licking their chops right now.
