I knew that, thanx for the correction. I had like 100 years on my mind. I also view that period remotely.brock118 wrote: ↑02 Oct 2025 08:15 amActually the record is from 1903-1926 our first World Series so 24 years is our longest drought. Something tells me we might break thar one.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑02 Oct 2025 05:24 am Good morning.
Maybe so; maybe no. Pushing 70. Great health. Gives me 10-15 years.
We haven’t been in 12 years. Our franchise long is 18 years. And we are not close to stopping this streak.
My take. The organization has allowed itself to fall a level, reference relevance. We used to be a 1B level team. Now we are a 3, out of five levels.
At a 1B level, we could compete and compete for players, both FA and trade. Not any more. We don’t have the resources.
Problems. Once you fall so far, the team and city loses its allure. No one wants to come. That’s an issue.
A team with no star power. Simply won’t get it. Look at post season. How do we get a star. First, who and where is this stud. Second what are we gonna trade? Third, will he sign here as FA? These are issues.
Once you fall too far, it’s hard to recover. Pittsburgh has the best pitcher in baseball yet….
Since 2000, 20 different teams have made WS. This year, 4 of the remaining 10 are still in post season. Seattle has never been.
Again at my age, I may age out. I ask again- where and who is the stud we can get? This is a deep hole.
I don’t see it.

Re: Will I see another Cardinal world series
Good morning guys. Good question and good discussion. After all the Mo bashing (some very deserved), many have jumped on the Bloom bandwagon to find optimism. I have never been overly impressed with his operation, but he needs to be given a chance. I saw this article which is recalling his time and actions while in Boston. Hope he has learned from that experience.Voldemort wrote: ↑02 Oct 2025 07:57 amNo, you and I will not see another Cardinal World Series. We were fortunate to live in a time when this franchise was at its peak. Now, it has settled for being a business and nothing more. If the Cardinals win a few, ownership makes money. If it loses a few, then tax write off.sikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑02 Oct 2025 05:24 am Good morning.

Since I am 80, I do not anticipate seeing another Cardinal world series.
Re: Will I see another Cardinal world series
If 70 and over I wouldn’t throw away your ‘82, ‘85,’87,’04,’06,’11 VHS tapes…..soon you won’t remember if you’ve seen the games before anyway
It’ll be just like a new WS experience because I don’t one anytime in the next 10 yrs

Re: Will I see another Cardinal world series
Can a fan have a lot of enjoyment watching their team despite not going to a World Seties.
I have friends in Wis. who did not have high expectations the last couple years. Ace P Corbin Burnes left .. Hader traded..Vliser Devin Williams after him.. Willy Adames last year.
Brewer fans very pleased with 2025 season . They may not go to World Series but fans attendance has been very good and Brewers fun to watch.

Absolutely. But my intent was to show how long it’s been and how long till. At 18 years, we match 1964-1982, the beloved 70’s. Second longest defiency.ramfandan wrote: ↑02 Oct 2025 09:38 am Can a fan have a lot of enjoyment watching their team despite not going to a World Seties.

Yea I definitely think they hit and probably pass 18 years. It’s been 12 already and cards have two more years at least of mediocrity before they even start being relevant again and I doubt they immediately go to the world series after thatsikeston bulldog2 wrote: ↑02 Oct 2025 09:41 amAbsolutely. Re: Will I see another Cardinal world series
Was thinking back on my lifetime backing Cardinals. Was sophomore in HS 1964 .. age 16 for my first WS , then ftom 1968 til 1982 had 14 year wait .. so have had several gaps in my lifetime .Ozziesfan41 wrote: ↑02 Oct 2025 09:45 amYea I definitely think they hit and probably pass 18 years. Re: Will I see another Cardinal world series
At 75 I've just finished my 70th season as a Cardinals fan. I've been lucky, 9 WS appearances in my lifetime, my first '64 at 14 and I was at two games. Although the last few years have been rough, I remember the droughts which were bleak. Miracle turnarounds happen and while I suspect I may not see another one I wouldn't rule it out.

Re: Will I see another Cardinal world series
Take a look at where their payroll ranks and then get back to me it is low because they draft and develop well. They’re 22nd out of 30 surely you don’t think that’s spending a lot lol But you’re against drafting and developing well so you probably don’t like the brewers modelGoldfan wrote: ↑02 Oct 2025 10:00 amYelich 24milOzziesfan41 wrote: ↑02 Oct 2025 09:53 amYea because while they don’t spend big they draft and develop well which you are against apparentlyGoldfan wrote: ↑02 Oct 2025 09:51 amRam…..they have the best record in baseball……ramfandan wrote: ↑02 Oct 2025 09:38 am Can a fan have a lot of enjoyment watching their team despite not going to a World Seties.
