Bloom gets a bogey year and has a lame duck manager. There’s no real good reason to replace him from Bloom’s perspective, and the types of managers they should be looking for don’t want this job in its current state.

You've made some decent points in his regard.

There are some on the field events that are directly under his control
and some at least partially under his job description like roster
construction. You're aware of the OD rosters as well as I.

Preparation to play. IF JW is not doing the work, why isn't he are any
other player not doing it? Ongoing base running mistakes, throwing to the wrong base,
what looks like focus lapses, etc. who exactly is responsible if not the manager to clean
that up or show some progress?

It's probably politics and optics more than anything else. He knows we aren't going to be a championship contender next year. He probably has a plan to replace the manager and it will play out in its own good time.

But you're not going to change the culture with Marmol at the helm. He is part of the problem here, and not to get rid of him is a mistake, I think, If changing the culture is part of the goal. And if that's not part of the goal, that is a problem. It's not just a talent deficit. It's a culture deficit.

I think CB knows he's going to make some BIG changes this offseason and probably sees Oli as a steady force in the transition.
