Stanley Cup Odds

Post by rezero »

I am in Vegas this week for a work convention and noticed that the Blues have +5000 odds to win the cup which is 19th of the 32 NHL teams. The second half of last year we were 2nd in the NHL and took the Presidents Cup winner to the brink without one of our best players. Blues are right up there with the Utah Mammoth in odds, so I figured we are being severely underestimated.

Dropped $100 on the Blues and figured if I won it would turn a dinner night out type money into a full vacation.

In context, the Jets had some of the worst goaltending of the playoffs in that series and were missing players as well.

Plus they weren’t the same caliber as the stars/Oilers etc.

Good point. Blues were so good then even made the Vezina trophy winner look bad. I think they pulled him 2-3 times and ruined him for the rest of the playoffs. We were easily a top 3-4 team the second half of last year and only should be better.

In context the Jets had considerably better than the worst goaltending in the playoffs in Game 7. The Blues still could have won that game and advanced, just like the Stars could have won in 2019.

Helly was atrocious in that series. Didn’t mean the Blues didn’t play well, but he was god awful and they had injuries too. The Jets were/are missing some pieces

+5000 is a great bet on this Blues team. The odds should be more like +2000. Any team with decent talent can get hot and especially with a goaltender who can steal a series.

I had a buddy that made a $40 bet on the 1999 Rams to win the Superbowl. It was early in the year and you could see that team was different. He won 40K which was a fair amount of money back then. You never know.

We do have that x-factor in Binnington. If this team is healthy, a few of the younger players take big strides it's not crazy.

I like both Utah and the Blues as dark horses. I am not a gambling man (too cheap), but that is tempting. Pinch somewhere else....

I was in Tahoe in mid-August. Took a day trip to Reno for a car show. Put down $100 on the Blues to make the Cup finals. The payout is $1700. Unlikely, but you never know.

Vegas is just another know nothing about hockey thing.

We could of been champs last year. We took the jet's to 7 games. This will be Easy money for the local gang of podcast opinion repeaters.

Holloway missing the whole series was a bigger factor than the 2 turds they missed for half the series.

Well at least you agree the Jets had some of the worst goaltending in the playoffs in that series.

I don't think Vegas odds are just made on who is better.

For futures they definitely give better payouts on a few teams that are still long shots to get people betting. Utah at +2000 is insane. Better odds than the Leafs and Jets. NJ at 1800…NYR at +3000!!! Ok I’m done
