Talking heads on TV think Mu's Oline is elite

Post by hdhntr148 »

shows how little preparation lots of these empty suits do. Calling MU"s Oline elite because of success of RB's and Beau don't see what even us casual fans do. against even a really bad team couldn't keep them from applying bigtime pressure on Beau but their run blocking is much better. they talk about it but don't get that both primary rb's are so elusive and break so many tackles as they are usually hit quickly they just arn't going down.

wonder why they didn't play the Tackle from WV at LT but had him at RT when he did get snaps? It is a cause for concern hopefully CG will be back soon from his procedure to play in Bama game.

Love the stats on how effective Beau is under pressure but while he is terrific runner he still doesn't get how to roll out of pressure and is causing sacks because when flushed he tries to step right up and isn't working well, yet. Great thing is he studies film and takes to coaching.

With 30+ games on TV every week they run out of decent announcers. We got a couple of guys who didn't know much (Horn was our #1 until he got hurt?). What's with all the yelling. I can see some plays each games that are critical, the announcers get into it & raise their voices with excitement, but not on nearly every play! Announcers have been getting the listeners (watchers) off their couches for years. I remember Bill Wilkerson way back when. He was quite exuberant, but I really think he was actually excited & not faking it. I guess Gus Johnson is the current model for the "screamers". He seems authentic, but ofttimes over does it. Rees Davis is way over the top & becomes obnoxious. Has Tessitore always been so extreme? He's become irritating. There are some good ones. Noah Eagle did the Penn St/OR game. A good blend of information & excitement even if his toupee was ridiculous. Columbian Tom Hart does a decent job.

A woman did the play by play.

And she did her job well.

I remember the 'Horn was #1' guy. He made about 5 factual mistakes on the first drive alone. Whoever was in charge of their research that week was atrocious.
We got the bottom of the roster for UMass which makes sense. The female play by play announcer did a decent job. The color commentator guy added nothing. Which better than some.
Bill Wilkerson definitely was exciting. Which is great for radio. But if you listened to all the cuts and moves made he described happening and you saw it at the same time as a routine off-tackle dive play, it might have gotten old.

I very seldom watch our games on live TV (attending). When I do watch (away games I don't travel to) I stop, start, rewind, etc. so that option doesn't work for me.

PFF didn't think much of the OLine against UMass. Especially Richardson at LT. 2 sacks and 5 pressures allowed.

With a five second pause you can match the TV to the radio

Call me what you want, I don't give 2 schlitz. I don't want a woman doing pbp or color. I will say they are a bit better than the ones doing NHL games.

She was better than the stupid (donkey) man she was working with who kept saying Sam Horn was the No. 1 QB until he got hurt. There are plenty of men who suck at their broadcasting jobs.

I never watch games I care about live. too nervous. rather watch later when I know what happened and then can do my football analysist thingy. I didn't mind her as she was as good as the second tier announcers go. I really don't care what they have to say anyway I am focusing on the fundamentals and who is doing what.
