So did pallante at one time
No [shirt]. Can we raise the bar for once when it comes to the rotation? ….the most important aspect of the team?

Nothing against Leahy either, but can we also leave players alone that are thriving in a particular spot?
The team is not spending money this offseason and will have at least three holes in the rotation. What options are you seeing better than Leahy? Not saying I would do it but where are you getting higher level players for next years rotation.

You currently have a rotation of Libby, McGreevy and three openings. We don’t have three at the minor league level ready. Isn’t seeing if Leahy is ready better than signing a Gibson or Lynn type pitcher to a one-year deal on a cheap contract?
88 IP x 25% increase which is a lot for 1 year is 110 innings. Let’s give him 120max. Thats 20 starts. It takes 32 for a full season so even if they try he will be limited
They can limit his starts. Will be very curious how Bloom rebuilds this staff while cutting payroll.
Limited starts usually means 6th starter which is perfect. Just need to add 2 FA. Someone will miss time
Who missed time this year?
For the cardinals no one but they did move on from Fedde and the #6 threw the exact # of inning we are talking. Being in the rotation as an every 5th day out of ST for Leahy will result in injury or having to be shut down due to innings limit.
he will almost certainly be having fatigue issues like liberatore did starting around the all star break

A piggy back situation with Leahy could work. Let him go 4 innings and bring in a long reliever to cover 2 to 3 innings. And be judicious in skipping starts when the schedule allows.

It would also be a good time to start aiming higher.
We're talking about a 4th or 5th starter at best. In a year that we're not going to compete. Do we have any other in house options that are ready in 2026 that would definitely be better? Would it be better to bring in a (bleep) 4th or 5th starter and overpay them to not be that good? Maybe we make some trades this offseason and get a pitcher that we can throw in the rotation, but even that's a big if. And even if we did, do we still have enough starters to fill a rotation?

Why would we not want as many options as we can going into a rebuild year? Sure, aim higher, which is why we're rebuilding. But you have to make due with what you have in the meantime.

He has started in the past, and it has been talked about him wanting to get back to starting. Yes, go to ST to explore his starting. If all goes well, figure he starts the season as a starter with the idea that he may fatigue. At that point one or more of our young starts may be ready to finish the season,
