Now, whether that’s this coming season or the next, is yet to be determined. He has done everything that was asked of him or he was told to do, so they’ve aren’t going to just “ fire” him. I do think though that they have seen he has some deficiencies when it comes to running a team.

BDWJr isn't paying him to do nothing in 2026 knowing that 2026 is a throwaway season

Just hope Dusty and some other coaches are gone.
This mentality of paying losers to lose is insane. It’s a positive if hes not here….Like with Miles….like with Fedde.
Oli isn’t making widgets for old BDW…..the money is gone….there is NOTHING BDW gains out of this but lost MLB games.

Like everything else, Oli has little say over his staff. He gets to pick his bench coach, but that’s it. It’s one of the “philosophical differences” that got Schilt fired. He wanted more control over his staff and reportedly clashed with the staff, especially Albert. When Mo said no one was unhappy when he left, that included the coaches forced on him.

I think Oli will be back, but there will be changes to the staff. Descalso may head to Texas to join Schumaker. I think Brown will be back because he was hired with Bloom’s blessing and endorsement. His assistant may be changed. Blake, like Bloom, is a strict analytics guy. He’ll be back if he wants to. I could also see him moved to coordinating the organization’s pitching program.

I'm not surprised by anything I've seen so far of the press conference--watching it on my lunch--but I do already feel better than I did two days ago.

It's clear that Bloom has a plan. And I appreciate that he seems to be transparent. And I also appreciate that he has a knowledge of the team's history but also doesn't seem to be afraid to be bold and won't hold things on a pedestal that don't need to be. I like that. He also seems genuine, and I appreciate that, too.

I hope for his sake and for the sake of the team that he keeps as candid and transparent as possible.

Certainly was refreshing after listening to Mo's babble for years.

Was anything brought up about the all important Summer of Yutes we just witnessed? Last year at this time it was all the rage to give these Yutes a complete season so they could Shine On You Crazy Diamond……given that what wonderful discoveries were made about the Yutes going forward?
Or is all forgotten and on to the next new Theme??

Oli was reportedly in the audience for the presser. Probably not going to do that if he's getting fired.

-Has seen current players up close, but no line has been drawn as to who's "in" and who's "out"

Without a doubt they have a very good idea of who they want to keep and who they would like to move. How do you articulate that in your first press conference? (You say something like, "no line has been drawn as to who's in and who's out)

It wasn’t about just the young players the veterans sucked just as bad or worse than the young players. Gorman is a veteran people can say what they want but nearly 1600 at bats and five years in the majors is a veteran. Arenado mikolas Fedde all veterans all sucked gray a veteran was meh
