C. Bloom Press Conference Highlights/Re-Cap
-No Oli at the Press Conference
-C. Bloom:
*Thanks the fans during opening remarks
*Not where we want to be or expect to be
*At it's best we want to set the standard for all of MLB baseball
*But standard is changing
*It will take boldness and thinking different to get there
*DRAFT & DEVELOP is FIRST & FOREMOST
* Must be elite in drafting & acquiring talent
*Then in developing them
*Will leverage information in every area with purpose and urgency
*ROSTER will see CHANGE, not where we want to be
*TOP PRIORITY is to build talent base for the LONG TERM, NO SHORTCUTS!
* NO short term gratification, will always choose the long term view
* Won't concede any season though, we will compete every season
Q & A
-International Talent Pool will be a critical aspect of what we do
-Not conceding anything, in any season but focus will be LT goal
-Has seen current players up close, but no line has been drawn as to who's "in" and who's "out"
-Has built relations throughout the organization including players, see's as a big advantage
-STILL SOME THINGS TO SORT OUT AS TO OLI AND COACHES (Re: Field Staff)
Payroll:
BDW-Jr - Haven't even talked to Bloom about it, doesn't know what it will be but will provide resources Bloom needs.
Bloom - Nothing off the table as to free agents as long as it makes sense to what they're trying to build but has to lineup w/LT goal
-A lot of progress in the minor league system is already starting to show results but NOT satisfied and wants to keep pushing. Very happy with the re-staffing, programs, ect....now in place.
-Won't "copy & paste" the Rays Way, this organization is different
-Right player will look to keep LT
-BDWJr: Draft & Development has been historically our path to success
-BDIII: Safety issue, externally working on and more funding for security.
-CBA: Being nimble and flexible but focused on building the team LT w/smart moves
-REBUILD PROCESS BDWJr - Not starting from scratch, some good players coming

See a lot of change coming this winter. Focus will be on 27/28 IMO.
Bloom sounds impressive and a good communicator.

Re: C. Bloom Press Conference Highlights/Re-Cap
The only thing that surprised me was still some things to sort out for the field staff. I was 100% certain oli and staff were coming back but that makes me think they may be getting rid of him or haven’t decided yet or else I would think he would have said then he would be backrockondlouie wrote: ↑30 Sep 2025 10:30 am -No Oli at the Press Conference

Re: C. Bloom Press Conference Highlights/Re-Cap
Thanks Rock.
I will have to watch later.
Did you get the sense he was keeping Oli?
Oli not there? Is that a tell?
Yeah, it's about what I expected them/him to say.
Excellent job of recapping.
Thanks again man.

Bloom with The Cat
*How far is the current team away?
Hates to put timetable on things but w/discipline could surprise fans w/a quicker rebuild but no false promises
Will be direct & honest w/the fans
Initial investments made two years ago showing promise and ownership fully backs and moves he's brought to them
Cardinal fans mindset is "just get the job done" and he's looking forward to building on that

Yeah I was a bit surprised at that as well. Makes me think that at the very least you’re going to see a few coaching changes. But I don’t think Olis job is as safe as we all worried it was

Welcome Bully
Not sure, he did say some things "had to be ironed out" w/the field staff which tells me there could be change(s) and yes, Oli was not there.

I think he may be gone.
Man, I hope he bring is Varitek.
Thanks again.
Nice to get on this site with people like you to pass on the info in real time.
Re: C. Bloom Press Conference Highlights/Re-Cap
I still don’t think Oli will be fired, but he will be reassigned within the organization. Now, whether that’s this coming season or the next, is yet to be determined. He has done everything that was asked of him or he was told to do, so they’ve aren’t going to just “ fire” him. I do think though that they have seen he has some deficiencies when it comes to running a team.

Bloom seems to have a solid plan but it will take time for us to see results.

My dream get is for Bloom to somehow get K. Cash out of TB.
Trade em' N. Gorman or J. Walker for Cash!

BDWJr isn't paying him to do nothing in 2026 knowing that 2026 is a throwaway season
Just hope Dusty and some other coaches are gone.
