I'll give preseason hockey this. It is definitely one of the more nuanced and entertaining preseason sports. Football used to be really good like 15 years ago. People would get jacked to see their top picks getting snaps and playing real minutes. Now even those guys get protected. These hockey lineups always have an interesting mix.

Dallas’ lineup:

Rants, Heiskanen, Johnston, Harley, Robertson, Seguin, Duchene…most of their big guns will be there. Backup DeSmith starting though.

I'm going tonight, decent lineup to see.

Agreed on football, and now half the stars appear to be injured 4 games into the season.

Not even sure why they have a football preseason, I guess to find the final 10 guys on the roster?

2 games after this one...selfishly hoping the projected core D get to play those games.

Curious roster for the Blues. I see a couple of lines in there, or do I?

Huh. Hadn’t noticed that until you pointed it out. I’d guess one of Joseph, Stenberg or Kaskimaki will end up playing C tonight.

I can’t really see any of those 3 taking draws and playing C but I guess we’ll see!

It’s the preseason. In the end, it really doesn’t matter much.

So Texier as the 4th C. Huh. Well, he did play some C for CBJ a few years ago. Not well but he played it. I could be reading too much into this but my read is he’s likely on the outside looking in as he just doesn’t fit at C on this team without at least a couple injuries. He’s not a 4th line guy at all. Bjugstad or Sunny would be better there. And he’s not in the same ballpark to steal a C spot from either Schenn or Suter.

DeFranks listed the same lines but had Texier line as 3rd line and Dvorsky line as 4th, so I guess whichever plays better will get more ice time. Texier also played C in his other pre-season game vs Columbus.

Aaand now Korac says the line will actually be Lucic-Joseph-Texier.

JR then added this quote from Monty:
Monty says Joseph will center the 4th line, so Lucic-Joseph-Texier.

Monty: "Joseph is really smart down low, he has a really good defensive stick. We've seen him play RW twice and we want to see him play center. Texier played C the 1st game and we want to see him play RW."
Whatever. It’s preseason and the points don’t matter. But good to see different guys in different roles to see how they perform and if they can meet the challenge.

Yep. It wouldn't be surprising to try to move AT. He has 13/14/15th forward written on him, and at 26yo that prospect can't sit too well with him.
78 games played for CBJ the year before the Blues acquired him. I'm interested in how it plays out.
