anyone understand fired coachs one month TP thingy?
i've only heard brief references to it but since now 4 teams have fired coaches would seem like you could go fill holes like a experienced kicker and a solid LT. supposedly there is a one month TP situation. educate us please or is this a real thing.
Re: anyone understand fired coachs one month TP thingy?
From ESPN: After a FBS head coach is fired, players can enter the transfer portal for a 30 day period. They can then be contacted and courted by other schools but "the NCAA does not allow players to compete for multiple teams in the same season".
That ban will probably last as long as the first court challenge.

Makes me wonder how many coaches, via their agent friends, have contacted and offered Hardy?
Re: anyone understand fired coachs one month TP thingy?
If you mean Ahmad Hardy, you've lost me. His former HC at La-Monroe is still in place and unless you have some deep info on Drinkwitz, there hasn't been a change at Missouri either, so the transfer mid-season option wouldn't apply.
Of course, runners and boosters are always angling for top talent, or so I've heard.

No, I mean the 2026 portal. I'd prefer that Hardy get his final 3100 yards as a Tiger. He has 2 years after this one.jcgmoi wrote: ↑29 Sep 2025 18:55 pm If you mean Ahmad Hardy, you've lost me. Legit question, but one that may be easier in writing than practicality. If you are an elite kicker than maybe you head somewhere else, but if you are like 95% of the kickers in FCS, you better be thinking of your education also since that will be your supporting career for the rest of your life. Because kickers have such a long lifespan in the NFL, it is very tough to turn even a good college career into an NFL one. Therefore, I don’t see kickers leaving quite so easily for a better football situation.

But that has nothing to do with the thread topic. Drink didn't get fired or leave.edwin drood wrote: ↑29 Sep 2025 20:00 pmNo, I mean the 2026 portal. Go wonder if Nebraska will ever beat a ranked team again.
Re: anyone understand fired coachs one month TP thingy?
For exactly the reason you stated is why a really good kicker might leave. More NIL money talks if you have to get a day job after college.rezero wrote: ↑29 Sep 2025 20:04 pmLegit question, but one that may be easier in writing than practicality. IF your a kicker on a bad team or LT why WOULDN"T you want to go to a winning program? I don't understand why anyone couldn't understand that. More exposure for the guys and their kicks would mean something to the team and could be a key cog for new team. why would you stay on a Okie state or ucla or v tech as it's total chaos and they have no idea of who is coming with whole staff turnover and guys they committed to arn't there anymore.
so far havn't received any reports of anyone moving.

so they can go elsewhere but can't play for another team that year? as you said, I smell a lawsuit. course then you run into whole college enrollment thingy. transferring in middle of semester.

Provide five bullet points that you would argue in front of a judge that would get him to hear this case
Re: anyone understand fired coachs one month TP thingy?
How about it unfairly suppresses competition in the player labor market, specifically by limiting the potential for NIL compensation?
That was the basis for Pavia's argument for additional P4 eligibility, and it looks like a fit here too.
btw, I wouldn't be surprised at further Pavia suits. He can certainly make more money at Vandy than the NFL. Why should he take a financial hit just because he ages out under NCAA rules? Pavia forever!

Pavia has already announced this will be his final year.jcgmoi wrote: ↑30 Sep 2025 09:50 am How about it unfairly suppresses competition in the player labor market, specifically by limiting the potential for NIL compensation?

I’d bet Winon’s measly government check that Hardy’s 2027 season will be in the NFL.edwin drood wrote: ↑29 Sep 2025 20:00 pmNo, I mean the 2026 portal.
