2 other managers have been fired. Their season ended the same day ours did.

Melville has already been fired from SF.
If Bloom was going to move at manager, you'd think he'd move fast and hire the guy he wants.
80% sure he's not firing Marmol.

Bloom is Mo 2.0. If you’re expecting things to be done done differently, prepare to be disappointed. The hope is he does what Mo does, but only better. To that end, Oli Marmol is his type of manager. Today’s MLB manager (with few exceptions) are NOT decision MAKERS. They are decision IMPLEMENTERS. They have A voice, but not THE voice. The main quality they need to have is they don’t threaten the geeks. That’s what got Shildt fired. His growing disdain for the pocket protector guys created a hostile work environment. Marmol is nicer and properly deferential to them. Plus, he is willing to take the bullets from the public and media. If they do make a change, it will be more symbolic that substantive.

Let Mo have his dumb victory lap, let the Cards tweet about how amazing Mo was. Let there be articles written about Mo's legacy.... then get someone lined up ready to go and fire Marmol or demote him (if he would even entrain that).

It doesn't mean anything yet. Obviously, Mo's influence with this organization didn't just disappear.
But if Bloom doesn't replace Marmol this winter, it's a sign that nothing has really changed. Chaim is either a dumb (donkey) or he has no real power.

Re: The fact that Marmol wasn't fired after game 162
Marmol said in a article on the Cards website that he was proud of the style the team played and the way they finished the season. Yeah it was great losing 4 straight and getting shut out the last game. He's a complete moron! He'll be back next season because he's under contract for 1 more year and DimWitt is a cheap SOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looking like he could retain Oli. There is a reason though he could wait .. especially if he wanted to see who was fired and possibly pick up one of those guys . Many managers get gigs more than once. Francona is one and he is back in the playoffs with Reds this year.

You guys made me laugh. I appreciate it, even if I'm a goof.
