Bloom will clean house ..buckle up boys !

Post by ramfandan »

By spring training, the Cardinals will look much different than the end of 2025. Think those looking for minor moves here still have Mo on their brain. New sheriff in town and he will do things his way . Buckle up ! You may or may not like the moves but they are coming in the next four months . Enjoy !

I’m cautiously optimistic too. It’s not like he hasn’t been here for two years already and should have plenty of moves already in mind. Plenty of insight to act quickly and responsibly.

I think there's going to be a lot of turnover on the St. Louis roster, but I don't see a lot of the pieces brought in as part of that turnover as fits for said roster.

Bloom will get a grace period with me. This team needs an overhaul BADLY. The kid of overhaul that doesn't just happen overnight...er offseason.

Good. What they've been doing the last 10 years hasn't worked.

He should have a grace period it will take him a couple of years at least to fix the damage mo did

Exactly. It will/should generate fan enthusiasm. Out with the (paraphrasing) "we have a plan", "we will wait till the trading deadline", "we will wait till off season', the hope plan, "We like this team", ..... ad nauseum.

Cleaning house refers to management. The roster is just the roster and has turnover every year.

When will we need the management and coaches cleaned up? I'm waiting.

I'm sure Bloom wants to turn over a big chunk of the MLB roster. Chaim is looking for two or three prospects who have the potential to hit 30+ MLB HRs. He is also looking for a couple TOR starters. These AAAA players that Milk Toast Mediocre Mo has been falling in love with have to go.

The big question for me is how much does Bloom want to disrespect the previous regime. Usually, these guys don't want to poke their predecessor or the owner in the eye.

He's been here 2 years to survey the situation and to focus on rebuilding the minors already. Now its time to act (in a constructive, not destructive direction) and not wait for a grace period to elapse.

I’m hoping over the next 2-3 years they get an impact player or 2 from trades and or drafting.

With that said I think he should get a min of 2 years to show us something and communicate what he is doing. That to me is important.

I hope he does a roster makeover. But I have subdued enthusiasm. Even if Bloom has big plans, Dewitt has to agree.

potential to hit 30+ MLB HRs and couple TOR starters What is he going to use to get those? Noot? Gorman? Gray/Arenado/Willie? You will have to start with Donovan, Winn, Ivan, JJ and then add others. Cash on the free agent market for the TOR? Well that could work but not in 2026. The Cards won't (and shouldn't) lay for large contracts until the new CBA is in place.

I agree there will be a lot of turn over but this winter it's more likely to be Arenado plus cash for a gamble on a wildcard low level prospect. Noot for a mid level prospect. Or maybe a one year deal on a Zack Littell type, I actually doubt he would do one year.

Bloom running the team his way has nothing to do with previous regime. Mo had his style.,Bloom has his way. It’s not disrespectful to do something different.

If he doesn't start with the coaching staff, nothing else will matter.
