If Marmol is brought back to finish his last year, it is ownership being cheap and forcing him on Bloom.
If Bloom wants to retain and believes in Marmol, he will extend him and not start his own tenure with a lame-duck manager situation as a distraction.
This is noteworthy for accountability because there will be a lot of angst aimed at Bloom if he doesn’t fire Marmol.
He won’t blame ownership publicly as it would be a bad PR to reveal the new organizational hierarchy is already not on the same page, but with this simple tell, it will be obvious if Bloom is truly empowered.
It might also be telling as to how much power Mo really had, or didn’t have, during his tenure.
