Hardy is obviously RB1 and for good reason. But here’s a hot take: I think Roberts is actually a more dangerous, all around weapon and might have a better chance to be a pro. He’s a little more explosive with speed, and has shown he can catch the ball and make plays. He’s also a tad bigger.
Then the wild card is Davis. He seems like a clone of Roberts. Hope he sticks around next year and doesn't go the way of Lacy.
All 3 are extremely hard to tackle and run hard, through contact.
I know it would be great to have a RB lead the SEC in rushing, be a Heisman candidate and all that. But hopefully we spread out the carries between Hardy and Roberts more. Maybe save Davis, except man he’s good.

I don't get why Roberts isn't getting more playing time. Every time I see him in the game he's doing good things.

Re: Running Backs
Mizzou is #3 in the country in rushing averaging nearly 300 ypg and 4th overall on offense.
That creates a huge time of possession gap and allows a fresh defense to be #1 in the country in yards allowed.
Hardy should be Drink's FOURTH all SEC RB.
It ain't broke. There's no need to even discuss fixing it.

Re: Running Backs
Why would you think Roberts isn’t an All SEC RB? He’s top 10 statistically with a fraction of the carries of most backs on the list. We could have 2 All SEC backs this year.winonsports wrote: ↑28 Sep 2025 11:24 am Mizzou is #3 in the country in rushing averaging nearly 300 ypg and 4th overall on offense.

Re: Running Backs
Roberts is the better all around RB with his excellent blocking and receiving skills but then you have the beast Hardy. Plus Jones showed terrific receiving skills and is very quick. Then you have the tr freshman Davis who is already SEC ready and is good. Great problem to have but they will give Hardy more touches as they want to showcase him as they should.
they have a lot of depth everywhere which is testament to Eli's growth as a CEO of program. Looking around SEC no one else has the type of room MU does even after losing a very good one in Lacey for Ole miss. they talked about his recruitment during ole miss game Saturday and said Lane and his staff were sure he was going to commit to them and after season made big offer to him. usually losing that type talent is disasterous for a program but Eli simply said Hold My beer and got a better one. Also ironic is he was just down the road from Oxford!

Lots to look forward to with the upcoming games but for me the running game is the most intriguing.
Hardy is exceptionally powerful and sees the field really well but then there's Roberts with an edge in talent right behind him.
We will find out just how good these players are in the very near future. I have a feeling BOTH will be needed and it will not surprise me to see Roberts take the lead in some of these games. He has all the qualities of a lead back.
