The fact that Marmol wasn't fired after game 162
causes me to suspect he is staying. The fact that he is staying causes me to suspect this is going to be a complete dump and when Boom thinks the team is capable of winning he will bring in his own manager.
Either that or Bloom doesn't know anybody who could do a better job.

I hope Bloom does fire Oli.
But I don't think it would be classy to fire Oli right after an away game when the team, and Oli, still need to take a flight home.

Or maybe DeWitt told him he had to keep him for next yesr. That he isn't going to pay for 2 managers.ScotchMIrish wrote: ↑29 Sep 2025 11:37 am causes me to suspect he is staying. I think he gets reassigned to a different role

How are people this dense? He's NOT getting fired.

Re: The fact that Marmol wasn't fired after game 162
I think this happens eventually.
Also, why would DeWitt pay for two managers ESPECIALLY in an upcoming season that is probably going to be just as bad, if not worse?
I wouldn't be surprised if Bloom already has someone in mind. And I also wouldn't be shocked if someone is brought in like Bloom was on a "consulting" basis with the *nudge-wink* agreement that they'll be running the clubhouse soon. Bob Melvin, maybe?

Im not sure what the decision will be. But they were not going to fire him after the game. That would be very classless.
They may fire him within the next few weeks. They may reassign him within the organization. My guess is they focus on the roster moves they want to complete. And let Marmol finish the last year of his contract.

You can't go from manager to a different role. either you stay as manager or you leave the organization. It doesn't happen. His position no matter what it is would have him appear weak

Just wait, I bet he takes a "promotion" to a player development role. Managers have changed jobs within the same organization before.
Re: The fact that Marmol wasn't fired after game 162
If he is still our manager next year it truly shows how far we have fallen. I could never imagine the Cardinals having the 2 years we've had the last 2 in all my years as a fan. To keep him would be totally unforgivable. At least show the fans that we are going to try and right the ship!

Mozeliak is under contract through October 31.ScotchMIrish wrote: ↑29 Sep 2025 11:37 am causes me to suspect he is staying. The fact that he is staying causes me to suspect this is going to be a complete dump and when Boom thinks the team is capable of winning he will bring in his own manager.

Marmol can be canned after that.
And I think he will be.
Re: The fact that Marmol wasn't fired after game 162
I can certainly see Bloom looking at the Manager and his staff but unless he already has a replacement locked up there is little need to rush.
He figures to have his hands full with roster moves and will probably use the entire month to evaluate potential trades/signings.
Nothing is happening in the market until after the World Series anyway.

LoL. Season just ended...

Managers don't cost that much. If BDW is being that cheap then Bloom should resign today and find a new organization that will let him win.brock118 wrote: ↑29 Sep 2025 11:45 amOr maybe DeWitt told him he had to keep him for next yesr.
