Re: MS Edge Flips to Mizzou
Thanks for posting. Looks like a great flip. Now let's get some help for the secondary!
And that gives me a chance to applaud Drink for the job he's doing here.
1. Keeping the talent level up to SEC level despite graduations, transfers. (Look no further than the DL, LB, RB and receiving corps, along with QB.)
2. Raising expectations here. He is growing in that regard. After wins now, he focuses on where improvements are needed. Doesn't jump up and down and yell, "Light the dome!" anymore, though he might again if the Tigers beat Bama.

He's trying to establish a tradition, build a SEC winning culture at Mizzou. All the little things like lighting the dome are meant to help change a losing culture. Lord knows the school hasn't always been a hot bed of high expectations.icon wrote: ↑29 Sep 2025 10:28 am Thanks for posting. Looks like a great flip. Now let's get some help for the secondary!

reading analysts opinions on DE shows he is a very athletic 6' 5" athlete who also plays WR at his HS and has great hands and really good in contested catches. intriguing prospect.
Re: MS Edge Flips to Mizzou
Kind of gives a new meaning to the word “commit” now, doesn’t it? Selfishly happy for Mizzou but I don’t like the Wild West landscape of college football these days.
Re: MS Edge Flips to Mizzou
The situation has changed. When Drinkwitz first arrived he needed to cheerlead for Mizzou to help generate interest. Now after two consecutive double digit winning years, he no longer has to cheerlead but has to raise performance to another level once again.
Look at it this way, at the start of his first year fans would have been pleased with a 7-5 record and a bowl invitation (win or lose). In early August this year, fans would be disappointed with 8-4 and not making the college playoffs. That’s called raising expectations and it is somewhat of a double edged sword.
Re: MS Edge Flips to Mizzou
IF you watch his tape you see a outstanding blocker and receiver. Could easily be bulked up and be a TE or even a dual role player. Would be good on blocking on offense and has terrific hands be a red zone threat as he can go up and get the ball. Love great athletes added to roster.

but that's why Eli is perfect CEO for a CFB program in today's environment of constant change. He is adapting constantly and getting the job done. I've heard him called the best TP guy who doesn't have the crazy NIL budget teams like OSU OR and LSU have. as a frugal guy myself I love it when he is getting so much for MU's buck. We thought it was crazy when reported that Beau, a untested guy got 1.5 but turns out to be the biggest bargain in CFB. Except for maybe the ex ferris state dude who is doing great things for Ole Miss. Lane it the other guy who is doing incredible with NIL but has bigger budget reportedly.
Re: MS Edge Flips to Mizzou
True about Drinkwitz but don’t underestimate the advantage the Mizzou legislature has given Drinkwitz wrt recruiting. There’s a reason both Drinkwitz, and to even a greater extent Gates, are phenomenal recruiters.hdhntr148 wrote: ↑29 Sep 2025 13:23 pmbut that's why Eli is perfect CEO for a CFB program in today's environment of constant change. Lane clearly is some kind QB whisperer. It seems as if he can take any guy and make him a great QB.hdhntr148 wrote: ↑29 Sep 2025 13:23 pmbut that's why Eli is perfect CEO for a CFB program in today's environment of constant change.
