Who is Bolduc? Does he currently play for the Blues? Sounds familiar--didnt know he was on the team.

Why isn't their a bot that when this guys troll posts it doesn't just immediately respond with a lunch/dinner restaurant idea? In this era of AI it has to be possible.............
Smell of Green Grass - "Looks like Army lost the draft again and the blues are worse off for every move he's ever made."
Bot - "What is for lunch today Gentleman? Anybody had Chuck's Hot Chicken on Manchester?"
It has to be possible for a bot to just be assigned to all the socks and do this for us right?

Maybe Smelly DOES work for the PD? If so, he probably bargained for free forum access in lieu of compensation.

Is anyone advising the Montreal Contingent that Mailloux is having a pretty good preseason here as well and pretty much securing the role as the 3rd RD? While their presumed 3rd RD will miss the first month of the season?

Re: Bolduc is impressing up North
if you look at the thread views ... then it's an incredibly low level conspiracy to get clicks in a business that is being torn apart by many other factors far more relevant to the bottom line than whether they can keep getting about 100 male sports fans to return and talk about sports. how many people do you really think are in this niche discussion group? It's a lot more like an embarrassing neighbor who's miserable and demands company in being miserable (I'm annoyed and I don't know how to get help or deal with that, so I can make you care about me and my annoyance if I annoy you the most).
It's strange to me that "damaged human being" has to be discarded in favor of a conspiracy. lots of humans are sour milk. some are dead branches. some of them here are. that's all

You aren't joking - that city is nucking futs about hockey....I would hate to play there and get nitpicked and overanalyzed about every little thing.moose-and-squirrel wrote: ↑29 Sep 2025 10:20 ameveryone's talking about it2forDiving wrote: ↑29 Sep 2025 10:18 am Is anyone advising the Montreal Contingent that Mailloux is having a pretty good preseason here as well and pretty much securing the role as the 3rd RD? A couple of things. Reinbacher has yet another injury. This one is to his hand that will put him out a month or so. So fans are starting to wonder if he's fragile. Personally, I hate labeling a young kid like that, but most fanbases have that worry. This is his 3rd injury in as many years. The big one was last year, knee injury costing him most of the season.2forDiving wrote: ↑29 Sep 2025 10:18 am Is anyone advising the Montreal Contingent that Mailloux is having a pretty good preseason here as well and pretty much securing the role as the 3rd RD? Also, you have to look at the overall D picture for the Habs. They traded for Dobson, giving up TWO first rounders in 2025 (#16 and #17) and Emil Heineman, who is a 23 year old 3rd liner...kind of like a swiss army knife player, can fit anywhere but mainly the bottom two lines.
Montreal then signed Dobson to 8yr/$9.5 per contract. So Montreal mortgaged future is very much contingent on Dobson taking charge of the defense along Hutson (who will now get a big payday). Dobson is already being scrutinized by Hab fans in preseason.

So yes, there are a little rumblings on if giving up Mailloux was the right move if Reinbacher doesn't come through. But they had a surplus and took a chance, just like the Blues did. Although the Blues didn't give up two first rounders and a big payday.

I see that the Army moms are digging in for long defense. I hear words like "surplus, snuggerud, simple, and need". I don't hear words and phrases like talent evaluation, risk, and how to avoid dire need, and plan for replacing Bolduc.
Consequently, don't ever expect a rational grade from them about the trade. From Minute One of the trade, they have draped Army in blankets of accolades. Army's their baby.

Serious question for the OP: what do you think is a reasonable time frame for deciding definitively who "won" this trade, given the differences in NHL experience for two players, the longer timeline for development for defensemen, etc.? Will we know definitively after this season, in your opinion? Will we need to wait until Mailloux has 200 games of NHL experience as a defenseman? When will we definitively know?

Good. I’m glad he’s looking good in their camp. I’ll always root for Zack to do well. Mailloux is looking good in ours.
The Habs had Reinbacher which made Mailloux expendable.
The Blues had Snuggerud which made Bolduc expendable.
The two teams exchanged players from an area of surplus for an area of need. It’s quite possible and I’d say even likely both teams will “win” this trade. It was a good and fair deal that should help both teams.
Also, Reinbacher is now hurt with a broken hand and will be out 4 weeks after missing almost all of last season with a torn ACL. Dobson and Hutson are also dealing with minor injuries. Goes to show how quickly depth can disappear with some injuries..

You will get a more intelligent response from the part of a dog that sits directly under it's tail....
Re: Bolduc is impressing up North
Forget Zach....what if Mailloux turned out to be better than Dobson.
Wouldn't that be somethin' ?

Re: Bolduc is impressing up North
He should. Easy to see he was a keeper. Way more value then Neighbours, in my eyes and by year's end probably in all.
Montreal built a good team and will be in a better playoff spot then the team who gave that kid away.
Also gonna be watching the King's. Great young team with a 'teams captain, and great play calling. Which was half the reason, I enjoyed the Blues product.
Both moves were big missteps. They look like favors for future personal considerations, and a clear sign management has stayed way too long.
That said, I'll still watch blues hockey, and like everyone, I'll enjoy the hope Army built and sold to us. Fingers crossed we play a few home playoff games so I can get some more mediocracy in 26/27
I'll also deal with the podcast they burned kelly for.

go blues!
