No place for Alexandrov.
I have the same thoughts on him as Texier. Shows some flash, but then just disappears.

Not surprising. They’ll go unclaimed. Don’t see anyone else on the waiver wire I see getting claimed either.

There will be many more over the next week or so.

Sounds good to me. Looks like Alexandrov has a 350K contract guarantee. 300K AHL, 775K Nhl.

Not saying I want him here; but I could see somebody taking Travis Boyd.
Not that he's overly special, but you can do a lot worse as a vet bench warmer.

300K to play minor league hockey is really good. I’m sure he wants more of an opportunity in the NHL but can’t complain too much

I would imagine if he doesn't get a serious shot this year, that's the last we see of Alexandrov.

He'll either look for another opportunity elsewhere or head back to Russia and play in the KHL.

Alexandrov was given ample opportunities and McGing just wasn't good. Nothing lost here as neither will get claimed.

I mean if he can't make the big club, and he leaves I certainly won't lose any sleep over it, but would hate to lose a 2nd rounder for nothing.

I will say though sometimes guys are just AAAA players and that's it.

Well, first off, an average 2nd round pick has a 25% chance of even having a 300 game NHL career and a 21% chance of scoring 100+ points over their entire career. Secondly, if he busts, and he almost certainly will, we still wouldn’t lose the 2nd for nothing. We got some NHL games out of him and quite a bit of quality minor league play which would’ve helped some of our other prospects that either did or will eventually make it. It’s not a lot but it’s not nothing.

I suppose a 3rd point too. He was taken with the very last pick of the 2nd round that year. We used the 62nd overall pick on him, not the 32nd.

Oh yeah, I'm not going to lament anything if we lose him and get nothing for it at all.

Personally if nothing else if there's an indication by the tdl he's not going to make it here, I'd rather just trade him for a lottery ticket than just letting him leave for nothing that's all.

If we don't and he walks for nothing we get nothing, no biggie.

If you looked up AAAA player in the dictionary, I’m not sure who’s picture would be there, Rattie or Michel Mongeau

Mongeau had 2 things going against him.. small and a brutal injury that should have never have happened
