Old News about the Braves and likely the best spot if Bloom can get a good return.
I'd also add San Fran since he enjoyed some good years across the bay in Oakland.
Possible long shot, Mets?

We all know it will be either 1) your usual speculative SI/MSN/RedbirdRants clickbait cr@p; or 2) something you made up.

The paydown of Gray's salary is directly proportionate to prospect ranking.
If you have to kick in 15 million, you need a top 5 ATL organization prospect.
Atlanta expects to win next year, I assume they would go for that.
Braves Happy, Cards Happy, Sonny Happy.

but ... attendance dips below 2 million
Re: Rumor has it Atlanta is a potential trade partner for Gray
Why would the braves be interested in trading one or more of their top prospects for an old starting pitcher whose production has gotten markedly worse each of the last three seasons culminating in an era over 4 and a whip over 1.2 and averages less than 6 innings/start? If only some of that were true then maybe.
But let’s flip it around, would anyone want to trade QM or LD for this type of pitcher? Even in the hypothetical scenario in which the cardinals would be legit division winners? The answer is no effing way

FWIW, BTV currently has Gray at -18.6. If the consensus view around MLB front offices is anywhere close to that estimate, the Cardinals would have to kick in quite a bit of money and/or other assets to net a good prospect.

I guarantee he’s also one of those who believes the facebook AI generated content/stories and can’t tell the difference. Ignorance is bliss I guess.moose-and-squirrel wrote: ↑27 Sep 2025 09:27 amyup.. it was a fan rumor posted on MSN.. pitifulNYCardsFan wrote: ↑26 Sep 2025 19:38 pmA “rumor,” you say?

Thought I read an article recently during our series with SF that Gray was on their radar this offseason too.rockondlouie wrote: ↑27 Sep 2025 08:47 am Old News about the Braves and likely the best spot if Bloom can get a good return.

BDW has to "own" the attendance issue, that's his problem of his own making.
If he can't deal in truth, just sell the team to an owner that wants to win.

All true…..but all this concern about attendance…??hmoss859 wrote: ↑27 Sep 2025 10:51 amBDW has to "own" the attendance issue, that's his problem of his own making.

For those who want change…..empty seats are the best tool they have…
There are people on this board who complain about management……just before they tell us they were at the game……..
Hello????? Anyone in there?..
It’s counter intuitive to complain about ownership….but worry that attendance is poor…

Makes sense as he (and the family) once lived in the Bay area.WaltsSuccessor wrote: ↑27 Sep 2025 10:28 amThought I read an article recently during our series with SF that Gray was on their radar this offseason too.rockondlouie wrote: ↑27 Sep 2025 08:47 am Old News about the Braves and likely the best spot if Bloom can get a good return.

Not the worse thing in the world to finish your career in that beautiful city.
They also have the $$$$ to absorb the bulk ($25M?) of his deal too.

Has anyone been to SF lately? The homeless and drug users are everywhere. The city was nice and clean back in the early '80's but not so much anymore. I have a number of relatives there and they are not happy with the situation there.

it is also counter productive to think the team will spend more when revenues are down!45s wrote: ↑27 Sep 2025 10:56 amAll true…..but all this concern about attendance…??hmoss859 wrote: ↑27 Sep 2025 10:51 amBDW has to "own" the attendance issue, that's his problem of his own making.
